I love them. I wish they came in a refillable pop up type container like baby wipes do.

I have used the Formby's furniture face lift kit and I was pleased with the results.

It worked well to smooth over scratches and add shine. It is like refinishing Lite.

If the finish on your item is worn down to the wood or is "tacky" as in sticky not as in poor taste - then you should just refinish completely.

It is really hard for me to comment just on the bench because the room looks totally different in the two sets of photos.

I like the redone bench but would paint the legs darker

I really like alot of the elements of this room and this project.

I am also not a tv person - I don't have cable and I really only watch movies and the like. But I think that having the tv on the floor would not work for me. The viewing angle would just be all wrong and uncomfortable. Also I sometimes have friends over for movie night so I need the tv to be situated in a way that works for other people and not just me.

I really liked the idea of creating a fabric skirt for that desk and I can totally see that as a solution to hiding things that I want hidden such as a pile of shoes, a laundry bin, or a catbox. I was totally inspired by your project in that sense and would make a version of that to have in my home for sure.

The setup of your room is not my personal taste but I agree with what other have said which is that it is consistent and suits your personal style.

Good Job!

Nice - but seriously not worth the price.

For $50 bucks you could just mount these to the wall

Wow!

I do think that some of the other comments were a touch nasty but the truth is that many elements of your bathroom are definitely not my personal style.

I think that the bathroom really lacks a unifying element and that all of the individual items that are up for comment (light fixture, mirror, blue walls) do not go together at all.

I would take that beautiful mirror out of the bathroom completely and put it somewhere where it can be a focal point! It is completely lost on that striking blue wall and the much debated light fixture, whether you love it or hate it, is all that I can look at. It is also true that the art deco style of the mirror is in conflict with the other main elements of the bathroom.

Put something with more modern lines like a sleek mirror cabinet or a round frameless mirror.

The light fixture is not good. I know money is a factor but what about Ikea? or Ebay? If you like the round lights I would mount two of these as sconces on either side of a sleek mirror cabinet?

The striking blue walls are not my taste but they are in fact in your house so more power to you!

Kathleen

why don't you see if you can order the Crate and Barrel Troy Twin Sleeper and Storage Ottoman in leather.

It is going to be difficult to find all of the qualities you are looking for together in a matching set of furniture. Good luck!

Apartment Therapy - Good Questions: Leather Loveseat Sofabed with Ottoman?

I live in a rental apartment that was completely renovated right before I moved in. The landlords had refinished the hardwood floors and I am guessing forgot to replace the baseboards before I moved in?

Anyway I have no baseboards and it is clear that there used to be baseboards because there is still a line of demarcation on the wall...

This has left a tiny gap between the wall and the floor - a gap which I never noticed until the first rain of the season.

ANTS! Thousands of ants had free and clear access to my apartment - from every room!

It took months to get rid of them all and block their trails in to my apartment.

Just get yourself some baseboards already!

Apartment Therapy - Good Questions: Do I HAVE to Have Baseboards?

I agree that you should soften up the feeling a bit. I have a pb square sofa, chair, and ottoman and when you get them all in a room together that feels like a whole lot of square.

I love the idea of adding natural materials to you space and I like the idea of these round seagrass covered numbers

Even a vintage round wicker coffee table

Or a beautiful Leather ottoman

I also like the idea of adding more color to the room and that would be up to your personal preference... Orange or Reddish would feel good to me

Apartment Therapy - Good Questions: Should I Purchase a Coffee Table or an Ottoman?

Wow...

People I have been there. You are tapped out and you have no cash to spend on anything that is not mortgage payment/rent or food- and yet you need a place to sit.

There is no choice for you but to wait this one out. Sit on the couch, nap on the couch, recline in the couch... Do not spend a penny on decorating anything that surrounds this couch - save your money!

When you have enough money buy the nicest most elegant and well designed couch you can afford and begin crafting a new vision of your space with that fine new piece of couch in mind!

Then donate that big green behemoth to some poor people who need a place to sit that is off the floor!

Then go home and sit on your fine and quality new couch and bask in the good karma of having gifted the "green giant" back to the world!
