Had an overload of ricotta and thought this sounded good. Very quick and easy, flavor is subtle and I like the hint of lemon. However, much like Alfredo sauce this was way too creamy and rich for me. Maybe I can try it with a skim ricotta. Sauce that is left I am going to use with pancakes...should be interesting!

Yum. I do something similar but without the glaze, which I will try asap.
Maybe you can also post the recipes for the rib eye and pork? I am always looking for really quick meals and my go-to's have gotten a little bit boring.

I'll add another vote for the brisket. It isn't too labor intensive, cooks well, is easy to eat if you are balancing a plate on your lap and is special enough for a special occasion. While the tacos are a favorite in my house preparing them for a crowd with all sorts of variations, and accompaniments means prep work (not elaborate but nevertheless prep work) and washing of all the bowls / utensil.
Good luck and Happy Birthday (and don't worry that number isn't so scary!)

I do the same as CMCINNYC and it tastes wonderful. I do find that when I do it there is more egg than what you get from restaurants so they obviously make their egg go for more meals than I do.

I have had several disasters like this and it is so depressing to have such anticipation, followed by such a let down. In fact something I made with calamari looked like your fritters. I'd like to say we learn from mistakes, but sometimes you just don't know what you did/didn't do. Maybe it's just the starts aren't aligned correctly.

It's over???? You're sad??? I am besides myself with sadness. I have loved eating my breakfast with you every morning, hearing your calm voice telling me what I needed to do and start my day off in such a gentle and positive way.
I am not ready to graduate.....I need to repeat everything.....if I watch these little lessons over and over a few more times I might just get through everything.
Thank you Maxwell!! I have loved it and will miss you.

Oh, Maxwell you are too talented!! What a wonderful video. How anyone can take something as bland (but necessary) as cleaning and make it fun is obviously creative. Loving the series, will miss it when it is over, but can just replay each episode when needed. They are highly motivating. Thanks very much for starting my day with a smile and some calmness.

Wait...a question! Do you collect and freeze the vegetables? I have been freezing chicken bits but hadn't thought to go any further.

Stockpiling Your Scraps: What to Save & Freeze for Stocks

Great question! As one of the most over prepared people (according to my husband) I usually make stew with meet and vegetables and soups for the blizzards, and bake some cookies and make sure I have plenty of supplies for hot chocolate. A hurricane is different in that there is the prospect of no power, possibly for days. We are on well water and despite having a generator I do have to be cautious about water use. So, today I have washed and bagged all the fruit and vegetables (however, this definitely conflicts with my environmental leanings) and put them ready in the fridge. I have put 2 stainless steel water bottles in the freezer to make big ice cubes to drink from and keep the freezer cool. I have started a pot of vegetable soup (in the slow cooker to keep the kitchen cooler) and will roast a chicken (plain and seasoned only) and a several drum sticks (with bbq sauce) which should give us a couple of days food. I have corn, eggplant and zucchini that I can cook on the grill once the storm has passed and I have cookies, cheese and biscuits. And wine.
And I also have several cans of things that can be used if the storm effects last weeks, or to share with neighbors if they don't have enough.
I will also get some fresh water and store it a Home Depot big water container.
Hard boiled eggs are a great suggestion - thanks! I will go and make some now.

I have had my turn of being a food / music / culture snob.....then life got in the way and I had to learn to cut corners and adjust. This is a wonderfully easy way to get a cool desert that is just a step away from usual. If I had to chose between presenting this and having some happy time with family / friends I know what I would choose.
