Put down a couple of yoga mats under the air mattress if it's on the floor (so it doesn't slide around when your guests get into bed!). FOR SURE add some padding to the mattress so it doesn't get cold in the middle of the night (pillow top idea). I use an old comforter, then put the fitted sheet right over it. :)

In our small condo we always gave up our bedroom to guests and we slept out in the living room. That way we could get up in the morning, get our breakfast/lunches ready etc without disturbing guests. To get our bedroom ready, I'd change out the bedding and pillows (and I always use mattress covers and special pillow insert covers), get rid of clutter, make it feel less personal so that guests felt like they were at a hotel! Also, I make sure all my pillows/comforters/blankets etc I buy are always machine washable. Why do people think it's strange?

2 of us (Canadians) are in 2000 sq feet total (about 1500 of that is finished, usable space). We went from 710 sq feet, so it's a big jump for us!

Side tables in the bedroom are from Ikea as well. And again the sofa is from the Bay (big Canadian dept store) I just can't recall the brandname of the sofa itself. THanks again!
