We used to do every other weekend; we're total city mouse (me) country mouse (him), but we tried to make it fair. With the gas price hike in the past six months and horrendous parking in my neighborhood though, it's been cheaper for me to take BART out there on Fridays and take the train back to work Monday mornings. If I want to be in the city we discuss ahead so he can mentally prepare himself to drive around my block for half an hour before a parking spot opens. If clothes are left in the wash and haven't been moved in an hour, I put it in a dryer, without turning the dryer on. If they're in the dryer and haven't been picked up in an hour, they go on top of the folding table. Everyone knows the rules of the game. You snooze...you get wrinkled laundry. The "princess" and I compete for spooning rights with my boyfriend. It varies...sometimes she's feeling jealous, other nights she just stays in the living room or sleeps on her tower. awesome. same thing happened to my toiled last year and i was relieved that my engineer dad was there to save the day. he used a long red ribbon that had come with a gift box, and it held up until i could get it fixed by the super.
