I must have my crisp cotton percale top sheet. I even have a travel sheet. With it, any bed is my bed. I am not even too embarrassed about needing my "blankie."

Anything by Simon Vance. ANYTHING!!! He's the best and I read books I would never touch in print because he delivers such a great experience and he has good taste in choosing what he narrates. Try starting with His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik

I use dropcloth to cover my ugly (with good bones) sofa. I just decided to get another one or two and dye them so I can change it up a bit. no one ever guesses I'm using inexpensive dropcloth.

I have Breyer horses! Misty of Chincoteague will always have a place in my home, along with my stuffed gingerbread man (who is now in a glass box with an old photo so he looks like a collectible, not a toy), and my Snoopy thermos. I am too sentimental to be modern.

Packing for Mars and Bonk were very interesting books and definitely piqued my interest in Mary and Ed, who are so much a part of the writing (Ed's appearances in the work are hilarious). Thanks for letting us look into your home--such gorgeous art and objects! great colors! no pets though?

The glass walls are disturbing, not home-like. Looking at it makes me uncomfortable.

I, a librarian, like this. I like looking at the pages of my favorite books more than I like looking at their spines or covers, mostly. I would still know what books are on my shelf and be able to lay my hands on the one I want quickly.

I've been thinking about this issue because I have an oil painting of me that a former boyfriend's mother did. She used it to secure other portrait commissions and when she died a few years ago, I asked the ex-bf to give it to me. It's 20 years old and looking so cool and retro. I've been wondering if I should hang it, and if I'll get tired of it, etc. I've pretty much decided to display it once I bring it to CA from my parents' house on the east coast.

I couldn't care less if someone declares that it's narcissistic. My home is about pleasing myself.

oh Adam, your rumpled bed, your t-shirts, and guitars are so charming. But I really must thank you for sharing your glass Platner Coffee Table. Thank you so much; I love it more than anything (but not anyone, of course).

Whatever Works is a horrible company. I ordered some junk from them about a year ago and they didn't ship and didn't ship and didn't ship. I kept calling and emailing, just trying to get some info. After about 3 weeks I finally asked if they could cancel my order. They never contacted me but they shipped the junk. Now I get catalogs that never end. I asked them to stop sending them, but it has no effect.
