Best house tour in a long time. Elegant, yet natural and true. Not staged or perfect at all, just the reflection of the owner´s life. As someone said above, it´s not about trends, in 20 years or so this images will still be lovely.

Not my style, but ... absolutely gorgeous! So personal, chic and natural. And DIY... Dana, I´m going to your blog inmediately.

It always amazes me how many people seems not being able to go beyond their own aesthetical boundaries. Come on, open your minds and appreciate other points of view, you can recognize good work even when it´s not on your side of the street.

This is a different kind of guide I recommend, for anyone who wants to stay a little in Argentina and plan a trip through natural reservations, National Parks, and know about native flora and fauna:

A beautiful collection.

berkeleybabe: next time you search for a cow rug in Buenos Aires, go to the Boedo neighborhood, just blocks away from the "Tango Corner" (not a fancy tourist location as Palermo, but with old leather shops where rugs cost even less!)

Jess: if you come to BA and you like nature, I recommend a trip to el Delta del Tigre, you can visit the place in a "boat-bus", a private boat tour, or stay for the night in the islands. Very close to the city.

If you have more time to travel, I second the suggestions above: Iguazu Falls, the rainforest jungle and Jesuitic Missions. Also Mendoza (high Andes mountains, wine and a lot of snow and ski), northern Salta and Jujuy (amazing paradise), and even my beloved Cordoba Hills in Traslasierra (sierra, hills and rivers). In fact, the country is endless, I live here and still have so many places to visit ...

Good luck!

Hi, Hessilou

I often pass by "Los Eucaliptus" building, on Virrey del Pino Street, but I didn´t know that it could be visited!
There is a medical center on the next building, and whenever I go to see my doctor, I spend my time going from one window to another, trying to catch a better view of that facade... the details are just awesome!

And I guess you also have known this one:

Until I read that your mom is from Argentina, I was wondering... what is that Celusal salt doing in the kitchen???

Keep on spreading the dulce de leche!!!

Love this apartment.
Books everywhere, even in the windowsill, and a lovely dog: that´s style.
The lightbulb poster in the bedroom is fantastic!

I have wooden blinds, not aluminium, so maybe it´s a little different situation (shower is out of the question!). I don´t recommend the feather duster, since I´m allergic and it would be a total disaster for my noise and lungs...

The fast way to do it is close the blinds and vaccum to remove dust on both sides, using the small brush attachment on the vacuum cleaner. For a really deep cleaning, I open the blinds and spray with a cleaning product (for wood in this case) and use a pair of thick cotton gloves on each blind, using my fingers just as the special brush for blinds posted above.

Anyway, it´s not a pretty work to do...

Just perfect! I share the philosophy: "minimalism with quality workmanship but limited financial investment". Easy to say, but so hard to achieve...!

Love the floors and shelving. And the books. A room with books and fireplace is just like heaven, feels cozy and warm even to those people who don´t like minimalist spaces.

And according to the post in The Kitchn, the owner of this apartment really cooks in this tiny kitchen: the shelves by the counter are filled with cooking books, mixer, etc . I imagine that the table can be used as counter space if needed, but I would rather install a folding counter, a white surface that could be folded and disappear against the wall when not in use.

Yeah!!! not my house, but is a very good balance to the new trends (I´m seeing too many rooms that reminds me of an old aunt, with style, but yet an old aunt fond of floral patterns).
And of course, the right answers. If only the soul was that easy to clean too..
