Oh god, it's so beautiful.

gross. i'm pretty sure no one buys leksvik stuff whether its on sale or not.

each year, i am disgusted at first with the new ikea catalog only to find myself warming up to it a few weeks later. i have always loved change, but at the same despised it.

this year, i'm not sure though. there weren't too many setups that i fell in love with instantly. also, i agree with those who said everything looking cluttered. i mean, i have a TON of junk in my bedroom, but i manage to hide it nicely. this year's rooms all look random, and too busy.

one feature i keep missing from the 2007 catalog, is the WHOLE home setup in the beginning. it showed how a whole house was put together and coordinated, creating one seamless space. i mean sure, there are a ton of room setups in this catalog, but it's nice seeing how one of those rooms works with others to create an entire home.

also, i feel like an intern or just plain poor designer did the graphic/layout design for this catalog. first of all, it looks like they dropped futura (which they have used for a lot of company-wide typography) for something cheap looking like tahoma or verdana. also, there are captions everywhere that are nearly unreadable (black text on a dark background). and so on. the copy isn't as quirky or professional sounding as previous editions either. that's me just being picky, though.

most standard dryer sheets have animal fat in them. hence why your clothes feel greasy and waxy.

i have always used dryer sheets and recently switched over to method's wet sheets (no animal guts!). they make the clothes and towels feel less sticky for sure (and i love anything by them in the sweet water scent). i've never used liquid fabric softener though, and i don't know many people that do anymore, to be honest. i thought it was kind of a thing of the past? maybe not?

i'm not sure if using softeners even makes the fabric noticeably softer. i just like the smell they give laundry :D

wow, i think i like this. i'd like it even more if the rolling rocking base could be bought separately to replace the stationary base that i already have.

one thing that drives me absolutely nuts is the little wood nubs that stick out on the front of the rocker part. i realize they're there so it stops from tilting too far forward (i think...)—it just looks out of place since the back end is so beautifully rounded. it breaks up the seamlessness of the design.

so cute. they remind me a lot of CELEBER from ikea. which is probably why i like them.

so cooooooool.

i wish i had a room like this in my house!

i'd guess they would stand up to the water, seeing as how they're meant for outside.

not a huge fan of the place, just because it's really not my style. and the wall mural...? i think it's kind of cute. i don't know why everyone is immediately bashing it.

kudos for living in a place with no windows at all. i don't think i could do it!

ps: anyone notice the fake bird sitting on the pipe hanging from the ceiling in the bedroom shot? LOVE IT.

the new bathroom lines are sooooooooo nice looking. i love the new sinks and cabinets.

i love the accessories that attach to the one sink (like the towel hooks, etc). such a good idea!
