Steal away! It's perfect because there's no set value (priceless), and nobody else can offer it. We did finally have to limit it to four people; a recent winner brought along nine other guests... Inviting Guests to the Family Dinner Table |

We have Sunday night supper every week with our extended families, who live close by. It's always at either our house or my sister's; 10 or 12 is the usual crowd. One of us usually makes at least one unfamiliar dish, which is exciting. It's always a good time, even when there's some drama happening. (Not infrequent, with family.) I'm chiming in--I also freeze it whole and grate it, unpeeled, with a microplane. Nobody has ever said, "What is all this ginger peel doing in here?" Tip: Store Grated Ginger in the Freezer |

I don't know how she handles the brown sugar thing, but when I finally caved and bought a brown sugar bear (terra cotta), it solved my problem. For $3, it's a great unitasker. I keep the sugar (with the bear) in a Tuppeware container. Before & After: Kimberly's Overflow to Organized Pantry |

I'm not sure which edition I have (bought it in the '90s, I think), and I've only used it for butterscotch brownies and buttermilk waffles, but those two recipes have been worth the purchase price. The Joy of Cooking: Do You Have a Favorite Edition? |

I have the Pampered Chef one. It's lasted years, and can go in the dishwasher without going black. I love that you don't have to peel the garlic first. I don't always use it, but if I'm in a hurry, it's the quickest way to get garlic into what I'm cooking. My Uncool Kitchen Tool: Cheap Aluminum Garlic Press |

I have collected many things over the years (mugs, dishtowels, bowls), but I'm out of room. I do still occasionally slip in another dishtowel, but that's it. What Special Kitchen Treasures Do You Like to Collect? |
