I don't know how much different brands matter for the paint, but you will want to do some serious priming with a high-quality primer (such as Kilz or Zinsser) so those dark colors don't show through. Otherwise, you may have to add extra layers of paint, which would cost more.

These are cute, but as a horrible klutz they look scary to me. Not sure they would be any more dangerous than all the other coffee tables I've run into in my life, but still.... For more graceful people I'm sure they would be fine!

I must say I applaud these young students for wanting to decorate their dorm rooms. I am very house-proud now, but when I was in a dorm that was the farthest thing from my mind. I put up a gigantic poster of Ralph Fiennes from the English Patient and was done with it.

As for your question, I would go for bold, multicolor accessories like pillows, rugs and curtains.

I got mine from Tazi and was very happy. Very fast delivery, and it was already filled.

My friend bought a cheap one and it stunk really bad. I don't know if it was the leather or the dye, but it was foul.

just curious... why would you prefer new? it is greener and cheaper to re-use, and some older pieces are much more sturdy.

if you can find a cheap one on craig's why not go for it?

I would normally agree that this is a stupid post, but...

I have a small hermes box that came with a bracelet I was given, and it is not only beautiful, but excellent quality. It has held up very well for years. But still, I only use it for holding the bracelet. I wouldn't think of using it as a prop. A bit too showy. And those boxes shown above aren't exactly a shape or size that is useful for storage.

8 Things That Make Moving That Much Easier

Wow. I am sorry that you had a bad experience with a neighbor. I but if you move somewhere and decide to set all these rules and boundaries upfront, I think you will pretty much be regarded as a total nut case.

Be nice to your neighbor, and if a problem arises discuss it. I think that is enough.

If it is 100% wool and has no backing, I wonder what is causing the smell. Odd.

How to Remove New Rug Smell? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy Chicago

I am really sensitive to these smells. I can't even go near the rug section at Target, it smells so bad to me. So I just buy all-cotton or all-wool rugs because I think they will be less likely to smell. I have had good luck with the ones at Dash & Albert.

If you can't stand the smell, I would return it. It is a cute rug, but do you really want to spend $$ on something that you are going through so much trouble just to be able to have in your house?
