In San Francisco we have Sereno, a boutique medical office dedicated to stop snoring. Check the Yelp reviews. Many people report that the insertion of splints cures their snoring. However, you should seek out an expert to evaluate what is appropriate for you. There are other semi/permanent options.

My husband snores and feels badly knowing that he keeps me up at night. I asked him to come to an evaluation @ Sereno. The doctor used a teeny camera in his throat and up his nose to take photos. He's got everything wrong that could cause snoring. For a flat rate of $4000 Sereno will do whatever they can to stop his snoring.

If only all vacation rental owners would heed this post. White linens = clean linens. If I am staying in Hawaii I know there are palm trees outside and fish in the ocean. I don't need to be reminded of them by the sheets, towels and (let's face it) tacky wallpaper.

It's hard to tell what's going on spacialy from your photo but these are my ideas:

1. Do what katzamboni suggests and extend the curtains all the way across BUT raise them all the way to the ceiling. Even if you don't extend them across, raise them all the way - it will lift the eye and make the room seem taller.

2. Find a wall screen and place it in front of the window to create an "ambient" wall. I like the "Ricci Room Divider" from Crate & Barrel. Then you can move your bed in front of the window.

Lastly, check out Ebay for bedding. I've been scoring the most amaaaaazing deals. I just received a BNIB black wool king size blanket that retailed for $600. I paid $60!
