The thought of linoleum hexagon tiles gave me hives....

I really think that if you are going for low maintenance, choose a nice, basic, and inexpensive ceramic any day over linoleum.

Not only that, but the adhesives for vinyl flooring will eventually succumb to the moist heat of a bathroom and start peeling in the corners.

Speaking of lamb cakes, does anyone know the reasoning behind the smoking lamb cake?

It was featured on Cake Wrecks this morning, and it's been boggling my mind all day.

Liane,

I would certainly choose the first poster's option- it makes a lovely mottled brick look. Painting white over brick.. well.. it looks like white painted brick.

Also, BM's Simply White is beautiful and very forgiving.

katerinab- Reclaimed barn wood is a great resource for BEAUTIFULLY aged planks- perfect for shelving and tables. I live in the midwest, so merely watching craigslist's materials category and I see it constantly. Where are you located?

The light fixture: I have an identical pendant from arteriors. I can't find a link to it online or on their website. Mine was ordered for me by a friend who owns a shop.

I agree.. you would have to plan to give it some symmetry and flow so it didn't look like a big painters' drop cloth stapled to the ceiling.

What paint color is that????

Also: I like the roman shade as is.. Maybe some nice decals on the wall on either side of the window would dress it up a little more and give a faux headboard feel.
