So how long does it take for a submission to be approved? I've been waiting for approval (somewhat impatiently) for several days now...and I really think my living room is worthy! :)

I agree with the above statements about folk artistry, as well as those about the giant Jesus. I like the murals, and even most of the religious art, especially the nude and the bathtub Buddha.

All that being said, I have to draw the line at the bed. That canopy/flower thing really is kind of bad.

Amy, the colorizing of the Pez collection is the most amazing thing I've seen in a long time. Kudos to you for making these difficult-to-display collectibles a major design element!

RamesesMom, I adore these color choices, and have a lot of similar bold colors in my home as well. I'm in my mid-30s. I think it makes you sound more than a bit snooty and stodgy to assume she needs to grow out of it. Also, I believe the two blue "lightbulbs" in the planter are Aqua Globes...you've probably seen them on TV. :)

Anyone can take care of snake plants, AKA cast iron plants. They thrive on neglect. No excuse for not having at least one plant when this is such an easily available option! :)

I have several IKEA pieces, including my sofa and coffee table, and pretty much everything in my office. Let's face it: the Expedit shelves are perfect. Why be ashamed of them?

I do have some cool vintage Craigslist finds, like a white/chrome/lucite dinette set and two fiberglass shell chairs, but more often than not people ask ridiculous prices for good vintage pieces.

The fact is that I'm a fan of the mod aesthetic. Lots of white laminate, clean smooth rounded lines, and bright bold colors. Where the hell else can I find that stuff? I think I have enough other vintage pieces mixed in that it doesn't look like a catalog though.

I absolutely love the teal and beige together. It's not entirely dissimilar to the color scheme in my living room! Well done! :)

I agree with Squirrely. It looks cluttered and I expect you'll have to wash the dust off of every item when it comes time to use it. Installing a cabinet or even shelves in this space would be a much better use of space and time.

I absolutely love the floor. I think when we add a master bath to our house (years from now, sadly) I will try to convince my partner that we need to do the black and white. I love it! :)
