Other sites simply state " In observance of Martin Luther King's Birthday". Your headline reads "Happy MLK Birthday"? How tasteless! Because of his efforts, Rev. King was assassinated. Your acknowledgment is offensive because it lacks empathy.

Straight out of "A Clockwork Orange." Demeaning, elitist, yeah, right on.

Read about the current trial in federal court at http://www.elephants.com. Animal rights groups are suing the company that owns Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Feld Entertainment, saying bull hooks harm the 54 Asian elephants, an animal protected by the Endangered Species Act. Founder of the Elephant Sanctuary, Carol Buckley has testified in this trial regarding PTSD trauma to captive elephants in circuses and zoos. I hope that readers of Apartment Therapy will take a few moments to get information about this issue.

Hi, Luca,
The issue that is raised when a designer posts his/her work in this contest is the unfair advantage that designers have. There are contests for professional designers and the prizes are much more lucrative then this prize. Because of the resentment raised every time a designer posts his work (and wins, like last year's contestant), the spirit of the competition is compromised. The editors at Apartment Therapy ought to allow two competitions, one for professional designers who are noted to work with unlimited resources and innovative materials. The other should be for truly creative people who work with their limited resources and are not reluctant to share their very personal solutions.

Luca Andrisani is a professional designer. This is not "his" home, but one of his client's, Esposito. He has more photos of this commission on his website.

ampc: all your comments that you have posted have been negative. My question is: what is the criteria to be a judge?... These two "cut" entries exhibit much more style, panache, and creativity than many of the the other entries that "made it", especially the DIY fabricated furniture, use of color, and the narratives from the owners.
