@ray44
Although I've seen negative responses on this site before, I'm shocked at what people have said to you here. I for one know how hard it is to make a decision on whether or not to part with something I care about and enjoy, from someone I love, even if I don't use it much. I hope you won't take the negative comments to heart - there's nothing wrong with making thoughtful choices about how to live, even if it's just a detail.

As for advice, I think if you don't have to sell immediately, the advice to put away and imagine you will never see again is good - you can test how you will feel when it is gone. In my experience, if I felt I was "able" to live with out something, I didn't end up missing it as much as I thought I might.

I believe that Catalog Choice (www.catalogchoice.org) manages phone book refusal, as well as junk mail refusal/reduction. It has levels of service, including free service, and I have been using them with great success to battle junk mail for years.

so timely! i've been looking for a cork bathmat, and started thinking the other day that i could make one out of wine corks! i was thinking stringing, rather than gluing, and was also thinking of doing it with a weaving process, where the corks are all standing on end..... let the experiments begin!

@surfjack & @KayinKCMO, cork is naturally antibacterial, and so long as you don't leave it soaking wet all the time to mold, it shoudn't really need any special cleaning or coating.

i don't know if it qualifies as "cheeky" but one of my favorite totes has three little cartoon birds marching on a branch, declaring, "save our home!"

Rebecca, these are lovely ideas, and I like what you are thinking! The only thing I don't like is your use of the word "gifted," which is not a verb, even though a lot of people seem to be trying to make it so, lately...

I'm sure it's not for everyone, but I think it's a beautiful, vital design. I think the front door is a little squished, and I don't care for the door itself, but the interior and the rear wall are lovely.

Reminds me of furniture that you would find in The Sims video games - playful, perhaps somewhat tacky, but still appealing.

My fella has a formaldehyde contact allergy, so we both try to avoid it as much as possible. Of course, it's nearly impossible to avoid! One thing I've read is that formaldehyde can be present in various products (including FOOD) without being included in the ingredients list. From what I understand, it can be a byproduct of a process, and thus not an ingredient, but still present... scary thought......
