Call me crazy, but I use a pastry cutter to break up the avocado. I love the semi chunky texture it makes. I also use ancho pepper for it's smokiness.

I know i should have followed the recipe exactly, but I am an experimenter at heart. Just for fun and to use what I had on hand, I used raisins soaked in black cherry juice. I had recently made cookies that just called for cinnamon and found them to be a liitle one dimensuonal, so I adjusted this recipe to try a hunch. I used 5/8 t of cinnamon, 1/4 t clove, and 1/8 t mace. They tasted great, and had the complexity I was hoping for (this is not a criticism of this recipe, just a personal experiment). I love the delicate texture and the moist results.

either grey or rust - go to a darker shade than you'd first assume. It will be warmer, more inviting.
