I swear by Intersand clumping unscented litter. It NEVER smells. Like EVER. And we have two cats which regularly spend long weekends alone at home, and yet, we walk in after 3 days and there's not even a hint of a smell. http://www.intersand.com/en/products/intersand-premium.htm Plus, it's not really expensive. We can get a 33lbs bag for around $15.

Only "issue" is the tracking, but we've found that putting a car floor mat at the litter "door" really helps (like this one : http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/1pc-multi-season-rear-rubber-tan/10180485?trail=&fromPLP=true&ancestorID=&searchString=&startSearch=&fromSearchBox=&addFacet=)

I have a Samsung Nexus S, dropped it on the floor several times, it even made a fall from a 2nd story balcony and it only has really minor scratches. But then again, it's not an iPhone, so I guess my story isn't relevant. Keep crying, poor iPhone owners, one day you'll realize that's not an Apple at the center of the universe.

Why not try to find a small (and used) clawfoot bathtub ? I'm sure you can find one that's perhaps not in tip top shape but can do as a temporary solution for 125$. Just have the tub drain connected to the existing shower's drain. Just make sure the tub is leveled by using shims under its feet because you're gonna have to stand up in the tub to take a shower, the drain being blocked by the tub's drain connection.

Good luck !

I just LOVE black houses. But they need to have all the trims either white or a very light/bright color and the windows must be big, if not, they look very very creepy.

Few examples of black houses I love :

Oh wow, I wish temperatures would be around 40F here in Montreal right now. We're having a warm winter at an average of 10-15F. It's usually around -20 at this time of the year.

That being said, I'd live in a cabin anytime. Pics 6&7 = YES PLEASE !

Since I live in an rental apartment, there aren't many ways I can make it smell like me (and my bf). It does smell like us a bit now, but I still like my place to smell a little more like something comforting. Like woodfire.

That being said, I am ADDICTED to the candle named Fireside by Slatkins sold at Bath & Body Works. It smells so good, I always say it smells like seating on an old leather couch, by the fireplace, burning cedar logs ... It's just THAT comforting and relaxing.

Come live in Quebec for a year, figure out what a real winter is, go back to the North Western coast, be happy and glad forever after about not having real winters.

My cat (maine coon mix) slept with me when he was a young kitten, he'd sleep next to my pillow, in his spot. Now that I have a boyfriend and got a new bed under which he cannot hide, he sleeps on the couch or somewhere else. But when he hears us wake up, he storms in the room, chirping loudly and jumps right on me, gives both my bf and I cat kisses, then proceeds to knead my arm 'till I say it's enough.

Hello, I am Stepanka and I'm a DIY addict.

It started with a cottage remodeling (done by my parents) when I was 10. I started helping out on site and discovered tools, paint, nails, glue, old furniture ... and it all went downhill from there. Hours and hours spent in a dark musty garage, sanding, cutting, nailing, gluing, painting, sewing, loving.

Let me say this, that's the one addiction I'm happy to have. Keeps me busy and focused on projects. I'm a renter right now, so I focus on painting walls and giving a little love to old furniture/accessories. One day, it'll be a whole house and everything in it. One day, I'll overdose on DIY. :)

I'm all for artwork in the bathroom. It gives you something to look at when sitting there. And it gives personality without having to paint. As a renter, it's something I like (for any rooms).

No it's not dirty, I've had a poster framed in the bathroom for a year, even though it does get steamy in there, it shows no signs of it.

And yes, I also have reading material. A dictionary. People ask, but I've been improving my vocabulary and learning new words/sayings on the loo since I was 5. I'm 23 and still haven't got sick because of it, just more intelligent :P

Definitely clean while I cook. I hate eating and having to clean afterwards.

I live with a roomate who's all about cooking but not cleaning. So when she cooks, I'll stand by the sink and wait for her to finish with something and wash it right away. She calls me a maniac but I can't stand dirty dishes and she turns the kitchen into a real mess every time. Drives me nuts.

I'll clean everything before I begin to eat. I'll usually leave my plate in the oven or microwave to keep it warm while I finish cleaning. Once everything's done, I'll sit down and ENJOY my meal knowing all I'll have to wash are my plate, silverware and glass.

We have a dishwasher now (she bought it), yet she keeps leaving her dirty dishes in the sink, which is right by the dishwasher. I laugh now, but at times it makes me pretty upset.

Thank God, other people do it too ! YAY !

My roomie keeps telling me I'm a freak because my wardrobe is so organized. Everything is sorted by type, then color. I love it.

I live in Montreal, and we have those two bars, called La Distillerie #1 & 2 (The Distillery) and they serve giant cocktails in 1L Mason Jars.

Mason Jars have never been so IN in Montreal - 12$, 1L of cocktail in a cool looking "glass" = win.

By the way, if you're ever in Montreal, go there. Great bars, crowd and drinks.

Very nice and warm. It's crazy how Montreal's apartments are so easily recognizable ... and I can't quite say why.

A 3 and a half, is a one bedroom apt with a living room and a kitchen (that makes 3 rooms) + the half which is the bathroom.

In Quebec, all apartments are defined by this "rule".

The kitchen always counts as one room, and the bathroom as the half.

I have a very fluffly duvet, so when I have clothes everywhere and someone comes over, I just lift the duvet, put it all under. It only makes it look bigger and fluffier.

I also have a friend who will stash all her clothes in the dryer.

Other than that, my apartment is very clean and there's rarely something that needs to be hidden so I don't mind people stopping by randomly.
