I can't believe all these people that are busting on these designers. They are totally bold and somehow turn out places that aren't super-juvenile. They have guts. Hot pink freaking ceiling? Hell yes. Shelves for all the kid crap too - Awesome. I love them, their show and pretty much everything they come up with. Very inspiring.

To me this is a functional architectural change. I'd rather have this than an eve, gable, or interesting roof. You know? You could even send your laundry down it, not just your body!

Choking/strangle hazard!! Don't hang it over a bed/crib, otherwise great!

Lose the easel and paint it with chalkboard paint! Looks like kids have taken over your house (as they have mine) so just embrace it. When the adults come over put the menu on the board. You can also paint it with some magnetic paint so you can hang children's artwork too. Chalkboard paint comes in a variety of colors so you can also add color that way. For more organization add some floating shelves on top of the chalk board paint in varying locations and frame some of that artwork instead. Target has great frames that make it easy to swap out kids artwork easily. You might also consider mixing and matching the dining set, like keeping the chairs and getting a white round one instead or keeping the table and painting those chairs something like hot pink or orange). You have kids have fun with color. Let us know what you do!

I think that was a PB daybed, but I just checked and they don't seem to have it anymore.

This can be so annoying to clean up, but I have a hard time saying no to something that delights her so! When I get sick of the mess, I just put the roll on the top of the toliet. Watching her enjoy something as mundane as toliet paper is inspirational!

I have never heard about that either. No one has mentioned however how much young babies love fans. I would keep the fan for sure. The little ones are fascinated by them and it has a soothing effect.

Have you considered re-configuring the room and putting the couch where the TV is now and putting the TV on the opposite wall (or vice-versa)? You could get a flat-screen and put it inside a wall mounted cabinet that would open and close. Below it you could put a small console or even re-use your coffee table if it fits...or put the one you have on wheels and move it from in front of the sofa when you need it to under the wall mounted cabinet? Otherwise you are going to end up with a bulky armoire that may take up too much room. It's hard to tell from these pics but it would be a shame to obstruct those windows at all and it's going to be tough to hide such a big TV with furniture without taking over the space.
