I've fallen behind on the cure (no flowers and the outbox is overflowing) but I'm using this week to catch up. Since my new sofa won't be here for a few weeks ::crossing fingers::, the living room plans are on hold. I'm pretty happy with the layout so a deep clean will do for now.

My biggest triumph so far is decluttering my entry way (Maris- photo above). In addition to the mail box, I've also worked out a solution to the shoe clutter in my hall way (photos on flickr)

I don't mind taking the extra step to keep the area maintained. Having a system in place, just makes it easier.

This is exactly what I did when I moved from NY to Chicago (and again from one apt to another). After my last move, I feel a bit more settled and I've started to build a home. While my results aren't nearly as polished as the examples in the OP, I'm happy with the slow process of creating a place I love.

I loved seeing the progress on flickr. Congrats on the beautiful space!

Hi, Marisa here! Thanks for the suggestions! A few things:

-The table isn't style at all. I put the lamp there to get it out of the outbox during the cure. Once I've settled on a color, I'll add appropriate accessories.

-I'd like a color that will complement the living room (mostly brown and blue) and the dining room (the DR walls are similar to the lampshade with white trim). Orange & Persimmon are front runners!

-Yes, the box of tissues is unsightly but my allergies were in high gear at the time. :-)

Other- I have guests staying with me in June so I'm also shooting for the end of May. Even though I'm still working on projects, I am incredibly proud of what I accomplished during the cure. My place is taking shape and I love it!

I'd love to find the Grace chair (or something with a similar shape) on CL. sigh.

Nice work! I have the same table and needed a little inspiration to do something with it.

I placed my dresser in my living room since my bedroom is too small. It was originally in my closet but I painted it and changed the hardware during the cure.
