Hate the new bottle as well. Because it was so hard to open while doing dishes, I left the top up... well, that has now caused the soap to clog! It takes all of my strength to get anything out!

I have to agree with the majority of comments that the white cabinets wouldn't look great with your countertops. I also feel that people should love where they live, it's a reflection of you - even if you're only going to be there for 6 years. If it was me, I would paint the cabinets a khaki (make sure the color works with the floor and the counterops) and then paint the back wall a color you like that will tie your rooms together (living room? dining room? whatever is off the kitchen). I love hardware, but wouldn't mess with adding holes to your cabinets.

I have lived at both the beach and the valley and have to say there are pros and cons to each. With the high rent right now, a ton of people (even companies) are moving to the valley - who knows it might be fun! Also, having a w/d in your place and an extra bathroom will be really nice when you have guests - especially when the in-laws come to visit!
