Or as an alternative to composting everything, save those garlic skins and carrot peels, put all your vegetable trimmings in a gallon Ziplock bag and make vegetable stock. Once the bag is full, I take a weekend day to simmer the veggies in a large pot of water and have veggie stock, which saves having to but it pre packaged.

This is a wall project rather than a small object but my husband had the best idea ever. I wanted to do chair rails in our foyer, which is an odd space to begin with, and we toyed with the idea of using magnetic paint behind it to put photos on. He thought we should do chalkboard paint and have chair rails that would hold the chalk, so our entire foyer would be a big chalkboard.

Right now we are in the picking colors and experimentation phase but once it's complete it will be a masterpiece.

What are those purple ones in the middle called? I love them and want some but don't know what to ask for at the nursery!

My fiance hates me because for Christmas he gave me a... wait for it... Campbell's Tomato Soup candle, that he found at Big Lots. It smells like a tomato soup fart. So, let this serve as a warning that only *baked goods* should become candles, not regular cooked foods.

How in the world do you people have such low electric bills?? Do you live in your homes or just visit them for sleeping?

I got a SSScat multivet system. It's a can of compressed air with a motion detector on top. It scared the hell out of the cat the first time he walked by it, and it keeps the dog away from chewing on the wrapping paper too.

Find it cheaper on eBay, mine was $25ish.
