I like it! Not for everyday good silverware- as they pointed out, but for something cheap and fun, it looks great. I can never find spray paint in that shade of pink! Jealous!

One and only- NO BEDBUGS. Fought them before- never again.

Also, prefer to have wood floor, bathtub, good light, more than one window, separate kitchen, walkup below fourth floor, hallways wide enough to bring existing furniture, multiple line subway access.

FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE. Never wire money, and "out of the country" is a red flag right there. You can put down a deposit when you've seen the apartment, but not before. Unfortunately, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Apartments definitely do not have to have bathrooms or kitchens! They can have a separate entry, and not be a part of another apartment. Just because you haven't seen it, does not mean it doesn't exist! In my last apartment hunt, I looked at a studio with a bathroom but no kitchen and a studio with a kitchen but no bathroom. Both were over $1000 a month too! People figure out what they need and what they can live without... don't be so quick to rule out other people's lifestyles! I like it.

Love this house tour! I often have a tough time imagining myself loving a cookie-cutter place, and it's great seeing someone work with it! Of course it's amazing to live an an adorable bungalow with original hardwood floors and stained glass windows, but not everyone is so lucky! I appreciate a house that's a little "done." Coming home to a made bed is a must, and coming home to a perfect house sounds pretty awesome too. PEOPLE make a house a home, not stuff. I'm sure when this house is full of people, it's pretty homey too. The only thing I'd add is more family pictures!

I had one in my old apartment that the people before me first tried to disguise by painting and eventually just installed a cabinet around it. They sure are ugly. It doesn't look so bad painted to match the wall, but if I had the same situation again, I'd opt for the hanging plant idea. When ConEd came to check the meter, they just opened the cabinet with a broom handle. They were obviously very accustomed to people hiding these things.

The bedroom in my NYC apartment is technically the dining room, and thus has no closet, and I will definitely be searching for a closeted bedroom in my next place. The room in the picture is huge, and could definitely accommodate a wardrobe. In my situation, and that of many other Manhattan dwellers that I know, we'd be reaching for the garment rack while sitting on the bed, and there's nothing breezy-casual about that.

I have my bed like this in my room as well. It's not ideal, but the benefits outweigh the negatives for sure. My NYC bedroom is 9'x11' with no closet, so this allows me to have a little more storage and a pretty chair. You do what you gotta do, people!

Favorite House Tour ever ever EVER! I would be interested in anything from these people in the future! I have bookmarked the house tour, bookmarked the Etsy site, and I wish there was more. I just love it! Personal and stylish and tastefully edited. I also appreciate seeing where Jennifer creates her artwork. It's like a behind-the-scenes tour too! Ok, rave over.
