I LOVE the wood parquet treatment on the front of the house. What kind of wood is that? How is it attached?

It's interesting. Another blog I follow, Cocoon Home, posted something similar today: http://cocoonhome.com/blog/?p=9087 Beauty IS all well and good. But function is king, or queen, depending on your preference.

Thank you! Too bad about the unknown nature of those white chairs. (I just luv them.) But I do understand. We bought our house as-is with all the previous owner's furniture. If we ever finish it enough that I would dare brave a "house tour" I wouldn't have sources for most of what we're up-cycling. And as for looking lived in or not, who would EVER put their house on Apartment Therapy with their everyday mess out for the world to see? I think you did a nice job with the strategic photography and clean-up. Thumbs up! (Would still love to know the source of the basement sink, though.) :)

Nice! Not sure about the Formica. Like the idea of new wood veneer. But whatever. It looks nice and better than it would in a dumpster. Excellent overall...

There's SO much to like about this house. Can we get more from the sources list than just a plug for the owner's art and furniture business? Like his stuff too, but also love those basement chairs, the basement bath sink, etc. Heck, even the kids table and chairs in the dining room... Please?

I've got the same question as jtlg. Nada on Trade Vendor. Does that mean you got it from a design-trade vendor? What's the brand?

Seriously. I think I might steal your dining room table... well the idea. My husband wants a "rustic" table, which makes me cringe. This is the perfect melding of his style and my more modern sensibilities. I'd love to know more about the legs, stain and sealant. I've already found a company that sells the butcher block.

ummm... what about bugs? Termites? It looks really nice, but in reality you're not even supposed to store wood up against your house... outside.
