This is awful. A married couple near my grandparents got into a fight over the lawn, and the husband had the lawn paved over. He painted it green. This sounds about as appealing. Xeriscape, folks.

As someone who benefited greatly from Montessori schooling, any time I see it incorporated into a child's life, it makes me SO happy. :)

For me, I don't have a dining room table. I have no need for a stove or an oven. I have a toaster oven and a microwave. But, I also have a VERY small apartment. The only chair I have is a desk chair.

For those who don't like the negativity--it's very frustrating to folks who have spent time honing a technique, developing a style, working hours to figure out what they want and how they want it. I've painted since I was five. I've taken all sorts of classes and looked up techniques online. Every now and then, I made "decor" rather than art because it was appropriate for my space. But when I do actually strive further with an expression and an intent to evoke an interpretation from my viewer.

Art is defined as "the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power."

So yes, I think art is separate, and this is decor. That's fine, but a DIY reproduction of this is simply to add color and nothing more. That's fine, too. Just consider how very little artists make as it is and how frustrating it would be to have a tutorial of "pick some colors and paint four canvases" and have the person following those instructions considered an artist.

Hilarious ad, though.

I did like the old colors, but I probably just didn't like that you bought stuff at Hobby Lobby. Your craftswomanship is really fantastic!

It's such a bad move marketing-wise. They could have worked out a license agreement with the poor woman. I've suggested a bunch of other names like hexkeyhackers.com to her. She's looking to rebrand, and I wish her luck!

You can get it at Target cheap. Particularly when it's on sale, it's about as much (ounce per ounce) as Dannon or Yoplait. There are coupons pretty often.

My cats loved sleeping on ours, but my husband handmade (as in no power tools) a gorgeous radiator cover for the one in the entry way. We already had one in the kitchen for the reasons @LinkyInVa mentioned.
