Great tips Adrienne! I use everyone of these except the plant at the front door as my entrance is too small. It is important for me for my home to be comfortable and inviting. Since I design colorful lighting and textiles there is no shortage of cheery and interesting statement pieces! You can definitely get a sense of my personality when you visit my home :) I also have throw blankets draped and at the ready for anyone who is cold and wants to snuggle down on the sofa while sipping some wine or watching a show! Thanks again for reminding readers how important it is to create an inviting space!

I am a textile and lighting designer with a real passion for color. I am more a fan of 80/20 in reverse :) I use bright colors to play against my dark purple walls. My London Cityscape Lamp shade with pops of fuchsia and teal tied in with metallic accents makes for a rich, cozy and dramatic room. :) I just made my own "spray paint" art in coordinating colors framed and hung on my living room wall! It looks fantastic!

I feel like so many people live in generic, cold, bland and uninviting places that lack character and elements that show their true personalities and quirks. Everything is brown or beight because it is "safe". To heck with safe, let your true colors shine!!! Embrace your home and infuse it with things and colors you love and you will find you are loving being in your home and you will feel happier when you are in it!
It is my mission to create fun and exciting home accessories that help people enjoy their homes and create happy surroundings!

I am also in between the two styles. I love modern and contemorary furnishings but mix them with vintage and some traditional. I have a ton of color and texture but keep the clutter at bay.
Great post! Thanks!

Minimal vs. Cozy: Which is More \"You\"?

The thing I kept in mind when I moved and had a hard time making friends was this: "To have a good friend, you must be a good friend". This meant I had to stop being so self concious and be more vulnerable. Put myself out there with the fear of being rejected. Bring goodies to a new friend when they are having a bad day, bake some meals for a friend with a new baby, offer to help when ever you can. Open yourself up and divulge information (appropriately). People feel closer to people who are open about themselves and feel like they can also open up. This creates intimate friendships. You will find that you make good friends a lot quicker. This is tried and true advice! : )

That is awesome! So, if it is possible to do this and still be fully branded, these companies should surely do this! I know that I would be more apt to purchase these products if they were respectfully packaged in this way!
