re-heating and defrosting, especially for rice. we eat "rice and eggs" for breakfast about 1-3x a week and the microwave does an excellent job reheating leftover rice or frozen rice. also, when it's cold i drink hot water so i'm constantly heating up my water in the microwave.

soap scum build up is a problem with all dish racks and with those rods, it looks like a nightmare to clean.

from my research and experience money or gift cards are the best options. at our preschool, the parents are asked to contribute any amount to a gift card purchase for all the teachers.

we eat together every night at the dining table. my son eats before us, since he needs to eat before 6pm which is the time my husband makes our dinner while i help my son eat his dinner.

yes, my husband used a diaper bag. we had the skip hop in blue. i also always recommend new moms to get a neutral looking diaper bag so the dad will be okay with carrying one.

1 toddler 4 strollers.
Peg Perego which we hated but was our main stroller. Gifted. Cheapo jogging stroller bought on craigsist for $50. Snap and go which was a hand me down from a friend. And a cheapo umbrella stroller we bought for $19.99 at baby's r us.
Another baby on the way. Planning to buy a mid-range McClaren to replace the Peg Perego Pilko 3 which has been used to death.

$1,1111!!! Come on guys, that's ridiculous. This probably will last 3 months of the baby's early phase. And then do you really want a giant and incomfortable rocking chair taking up space.

we had a neighbor who would party and blast music starting midnight. their backyard faced our backyard/bedroom window. so it was literally music being blasted into my bedroom. after thinking of calling the police on them i went over during the day and talked to them about their late night noise and if they continued with it, i warned them the next time i would call the police. the late night noises stopped after that. i think it's best to first talk to your neighbor. and then then see what happens.

i was only 14 years old when i did this. i honestly believe most people have no idea that their noisy behavior is heard.

no real solution here but i
- swiffer every other day
- vacuum once a week
- small handheld vacuum for spot cleaning
- furminator once a week
- our dog is not allowed on our furniture
i see hairballs everyday and accepted the fact that is part of having a dog in the house.

I love the epicurious iPhone app and can't wait to use the iPad version. I still love cookbooks but I rarely cook from them, the same with food magazines. I love reading them and studying from them but for quickness and ease of use I've been using laptops and smart phones for the last 3 years to get recipes and almost every recipe published is now online.

while in the crib my son slept in a sleep sack. when he turned 2 we moved him to a toddler bed. we got a comforter from the dwell collection at target. no problem since. the comforter washes great. one advice i would give is that during potty training there's going to be accidents as in the case with my son and the entire comforter can get soaked so if you have a duvet cover, you'll need to wash everything.

charmac has it right. this term is used a lot in design consulting as a category that they design their products around. it's basically a consumer that aspires to be a "pro". for example, the viking stove. a prosumer will get this in their kitchen because they aspire to be a professional chef although they're not.

wasn't it on this blog that said something like a green thing to do is to remove shoes at the door and reduce lead in the house by 50%?

i'm korean, so i grew up with no a no shoe policy at home. i don't expect my guests to do that although most of them usually do when they see that i'm wearing no shoes.
