When my now ex-boyfriend and I got a place together, we knew that he’d be working long hours…and I wouldn’t. Plus, I’m a morning person, and he’s a night owl. It worked out great for us. I got my quiet time in the early eves., he got time to himself after I’d gone to bed. I was also home to take care of some things that his insane hours wouldn’t allow (like receiving deliveries and such.) Anyway, we frequently did our own thing. Of course, we’re no longer together, but I swear that’s not the reason why! Anyway, when we were a couple, we made time for each other, mostly on weekends. I also think that, even if you feel like two ships passing in the night -- a funny note, a treat in the fridge, or a hug and kiss when passing, all go a long way.

Delaks, look up Noah's Ark. There might be more than one company by that name, but the one I've used for a number of local moves (and will be using again...hopefully this time for a long-distance move) is based in the Bronx, New York. I just looked at the Better Business Bureau site, as Red Zinger suggested, and they have 2 entries (at the same address) - one has an A, the other an A-. Good luck!

I just remember that my roommates preferred funny and cute posters (kitten on a limb with “Hang in there Baby” caption…) over my “weird” art deco print posters. And everything was stuck to the painted, cinderblock walls with Fun Tac.

“Ah, college life” indeed!

Ooh...the Guardian Building! I didn't get a chance to go inside when I was there, but from the pictures I've seen, I really, really should've.

+1 for Van Vorst Park. Just a really nice little park, surrounded by well-kept brownstones.

Looks like Dixie Foam's bi-fold sofa bed. I'm pretty sure that the wedge bolsters are just set on top.
