I don't see a problem with it either...i like it. If its solid wood you could always just hang a large piece of art or a mirror on it facing the entrace...maybe with a small entry table. Solutions to My Divider Dilemma? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy Chicago |

I live in 420 sq ft...when i arrange my furniture i always try to leave large parts of the baseboard showing in spots. nothing makes a place feel more small than wall to wall furniture. I also like hanging drapes from the ceiling to draw the eye all the way up...really makes the place look bigger. Tips For Making A Small Apartment Feel Bigger | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |

I constantly collect new items for my home and then have to get rid of items to make room for the new stuff. I find that I like giving things to family and friends rather than to goodwill. If I miss it, then I can always go visit it and see that it has a good home. The only problem with this is that some of my friends have started putting dibs on things in my house...like "i want those lamps when you get rid of them". haha House Regrets | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |

i think the only difficult part of this project would depend on if you want to keep the piping on the seat. Piping on upholstery has to be perfectly straight or it looks frumpy. If you are great with a sewing maching go for it though!! or you could try that fabric paint that AT posted a while back. :) Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Is Reupholstering A Chair An Easy DIY? |

I have lived in Denver, Chicago and Dallas and I now live in San Francisco (for the past 2 years). I can tell you that both Denver and Dallas have some wonderful things about them, but everything seems so spread out...its the same with Austin (and i LOVE Austin). You definitely cannot walk everywhere. Chicago is definitely BIG CITY...and amazing...i just hate the winters. San Francisco is a place like no where I have ever been. All the neighborhoods are split up...china town, nob hill, the mission, the haight..etc. Each one is unique and wonderful. I can spend a day in northbeach and then the next day in the haight and feel like i am in a different city. I dont even own a car anymore, since everything is walkable, and the public transportation is amazing. There is always something going on, like parades and museums and shows. I really enjoy living here. We have great weather (a little cool most of the time..which I like) The food here is great...any type you can imagine. Most of the buildings are pre-1960, so you can find an apartment with pretty amazing character. There is art and artists everywhere. Plus...you can drive to the mountains and go camping...or skiing...or go to the ocean and to the beach...or be in the middle of the city with great shopping...or drive north and do wine tasting in Napa Valley...it is all right here. big city with a smalltown feel. If you havnt been here, you should come visit the city. only thing bad...it is just SO PRICEY!! Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Good Questions: Which City to Move To? |

You could try dying the vinyl (or leather) to a color you like until you can afford to have them redone. Most vinly dyes are for car seats, so they will have gray. Just do a google search for vinyl dying (or leather dying)...I have heard that SEM brand dyes are the best. I had a friend with a leather sofa that was a little darker tan than these chairs...he dyed it black himself with very good results. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Help! I live on the 4th floor, but my livingroom faces directly into the kitchen of my neighbor (about 5 feet apart on a 90 degree angle). He is a nice guy, but there is no way I leave my curtains open. I make up for it by keeping my kitchen and bathroom windows open all the time, since no one can see in there. :) Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Survey: Curtains -- Open or Closed? |

WOW!! There isn't one piece of furniture...one lamp..one piece of art...THAT I DON'T LOVE!!! And for the first time I find myself totally jealous! Your house is AMAZING!! I cannot imagine having that much space! (probably since i live in a tiny little San Francisco studio..your place=15 of my sized studios! haha) Thanks for sharing with us! i found baskets in seagrass very simular to these at Ross...same large size...holes on the sides instead of a handle...but they were only $12.99 each!! Granted their stock is hit or miss...i had to go to two Ross stores to get a pair, because each store only had one....but worth a shot for that price! I just recently painted, and it is really overwhelming with all the paint colors out there. I found that Ralph Lauren has the absolute best paint colors (not the best paint though). I had the guy at home depot colro match it and mix it in Behr. I would look at all of good old Ralph's color choices and see what pops out to you. I did "Lafayette" from the urban loft collection in my bathroom..it is a green with a lot of yellow in it...looks AMAZING!! I LOVE floor model sales! I have gotten several items this way, but my biggest victory would have to be my loveseat from macy's...originally $950, and I snagged it for $250. And it was just like NEW!! That was years ago, but to this day I still shop every jan and feb for the floor model reset sales...i purposely wait on furniture until this time.
