I've never had a real tree. Having a real tree in the house gives me asthma, and it gives my husband severe allergies. Our fake one looks real, though.

I use an exercise ball instead of a chair at work, and I love it!

Does anyone else see what I see when I look at number 2?

When I was pregnant, my mother sanded off many layers of paint and then refinished a rocking chair that's been in our family for well over a hundred years. I rocked my baby in the same rocking chair that my great--great-grandmother had rocked her babies in.

The sixth one would look nice in a garden with some sort of flowering vine inside it.

I had a mirrored back splash in my last apartment, and I loved it! At first I was skeptical - I thought it would be too hard to keep it looking clean. What I found was that it was actually easier than a regular back splash. Because you can see every tiny grease splatter so easily, you can wipe it up quicker, and if you're in a hurry, you can focus your cleaning on just those spots that are truly dirty.

I prefer art that demonstrates the true, the noble, and the beautiful. I'm not saying that all art needs to about rainbows and ponies and poorly executed landscapes. Great art can challenge us. It doesn't have to be "pretty;" it can instead have a terrible beauty. But stuff like this makes me roll my eyes and think "whatever." Yeah, I get what he's trying to say, and I'll even concede that it's a clever way to do it. I just don't consider this art.

I like the first room a lot. Does anyone else wonder what's in the aquarium?

I like the first one and the green one a lot. Some friends of mine built their own home and they saved a fortune on floors by doing DIY stained concrete throughout the house. It looks gorgeous, and even the kids were involved, so it's something the whole family can be proud of creating.

I like it! I might try something similar in my daughter's room. You could probably make something really interesting for grownup rooms, too, if you used more adult patterns/fabrics.
