We bought a watermelon four days ago and it was kept in the fruit bowl on the dining table along with other fruits like an apple, a pear, a lemon and some oranges. Today I saw some liquid on the dining table and when I moved the watermelon to clean that up, it was all squishy and soft on one side and pouring out that liquid. I took it to the sink and and pierced a knife in to see. I deflated like a ball and all the melon pulp ran down the drainage hole. I am not sure if I let it sit on the counter for too long or if I picked a wrong melon. Any ideas on how to avoid this in the future?

How do I ge my butcher block countertop cleaned? I once placed a hot skillet on it and it left a burnt ring mark! I tried rubbing it with scotch brite and it actually made it whiter. Plus mother in law also made another burnt mark and turmeric stains! Any ideas would be helpful.

I bought one pressure cooker from Macy's, it was cheap. Now the gasket broke. Can I use any generic gasket in it's place? Please advise.
