I love Jenny. I really do. Her blog is great and I love her practicality, honesty, and humor. I've been making this regularly for a few years and I love it! So good and so easy to throw together on a weekday. It has become a staple in our house... but I will say that it doesn't age very well - next-day leftovers are fine but past that, it gets grainy. Luckily it's so good (and the recipe isn't scaled very large), so leftovers aren't usually a problem! And I agree that reducing the butter by a tablespoon or two doesn't hurt the flavor at all. Can I second terrym2442's request?! I'm planning to purchase the Colette bed from C&B, which I've loved for a long time. But it's a platform bed and those are totally new to me... I have a newer cast iron pan and I'm having fun learning to cook things in it (admittedly having less fun in my attempt to be responsible and keep it clean, dry, and seasoned). My grandmother raised my mom to believe that pumpkin pie MUST be made with a tablespoon of blackstrap molasses added to the standard back-of-the-can recipe. Now that my grandmother is no longer able to bake, and given that my entire family expects the pie to taste a certain way, it is a given that I'm supposed to add it every year.
