Actually its depend on affordability, and also how you use it. If its related to daily heavy cooking then there needs to different types of kitchen knives. In that case you can buy a knife block set. If you are in budget limitation then you can buy single chef knife.

Kitchen is the place where you cook your food and wash your dishes. So I think its necessary keep dishes in proper place. However, most people seem to have too many of them and without any good storage system, these plates can make your kitchen look a little untidy. I keep my all dishes in a beautiful rack. @Dirce79, You may prefer also Counter Top dishwasher for your vintage kitchen. Due to old design , space and popularity of several e-commerce store; i have seen that counter top one is preferable when think for portable one.
