We have a lot of kids on our block and they are out front all the time. They ride their bikes and scooters up and down the sidewalk and the parents hang out in lawn chairs together. We're also in an older neighborhood (our house was built in '23), where we actually have a sidewalk and large trees. Most people on the block take a lot of pride in their curb appeal. We just had the same problem in our last apartment. The guy above us was a painter for the management company. We were really nervous about turning him in, because of his access to all the keys for the apartments. My husband and I just turned our guest room bed so the long edge of the bed is against the wall. It's daybed style but 2 people can still stay over if they need. I also grew up in a yellow house. Only my parents went with a very creamy yellow instead of the brighter yellow in these pictures. It's an old farmhouse and it has white trim and white shakes in the peaks. My parents still live there and it's still yellow. I love it. I brought a Restoration Hardware color swatch into Home Depot and they matched it perfectly. I've always been impressed with the quality of service there. Wal-Mart on the other hand... the "technician" said they were out of a base color, but he could mix a couple others to get blue...um, blue is a primary color!! I won't go back again. Boo Wal-Mart.
