Funny, I justed noticed a pair of eyeglasses on the tank in one of the other bathrooms on this site (not in this group)... I was sort of thinking if the eyeglasses were for a man-it might be a good idea to put them on before... well... lets just say I now have some additional insight into why I dread cleaning day....

How about some shelves? Or a picture rail (my sister has some in her dining room with some family photos on them and it looks very nice)...

Our dining room is very similar to yours...we originally had a hutch but then sold it because it made things too cramped.... we put in some floating shelves instead....take a look..

We have very similar chairs...we just bought our chairs (craigslist)...we plan to recover them and likely get a vintage teak table...(currently we have them at a homemade harvest table that suited our old style but we are slowly moving to a more mid century style)....

If you are tired of the traditional night-lights I would suggest just having your cell phone recharger in the room....casts a nice glow....

A couple of nights ago I looked around our bedroom and marvelled as all the green glowing electronic gadgets (my husband works from home and is currently situated in our bedroom...not recommended).... there was a red lighting flashing from a phone message, a lovely green glow from our cell phone charger, another glow from our cordless phone.... I have since relocated these things and wonder how well we could have been sleeping with all this light pollution....

Hi, great place.... it has given me a lot of inspiration....

- your doll head gave me the idea of putting one just like that in my husband's closet (he has a porcelain doll phobia-the eyes you know?)
- the lighting is wonderful
- love the tierred bookcase (no place can have too many bookcases imho), love the window seat
- I like that you have used the closet for an office (I have eyeing our closet for the same purpose) and I have a harvest table I have been thinking of painting white and after seeing your table I might do it now....
- I like the pen holders! I am a sucker for office supplies...
- I like the idea of using the pet basket for albums (I am pissed now that I just got rid of our pet basket in a garage sale--was using for wood at one point but now we have gas)
- like the green paint colour and also like your blue office chair...

This place looks like fun--midcentury works really well with kids and we are transitioning over to it...(now I could scream at some of my old pieces that I got rid of years ago--cast offs from my inlaws)...anyway, I feel a sudden uncontrollable urge to run out and buy 8 Eiffel chairs....can't decide on which colour though....
