I had something similar to number 7. Had it for years. Mowed through anything. I loved that I could easily pick it up, stores in smaller places, and as a mom with kids at home, it was the safest option. Kids could be in the yard while I mowed with no danger. I could see and more importantly hear what was happening while I mowed. Also safer for kids to use. I never had to have gas or flammables around, and only had to sharpen in every four years. Wish I had never sold it when I moved.

Less smell, less danger, less back stress (lifting mower out of shed), less money, less noise, fewer errands. Best 200 I ever spent.

I would suggest a contrasting stain on two areas, the fronts of the drawers (but not the handles) and the legs. Or reverse and do darker on the cabinet and the handles. I think keeping the wood would be better than painting.
I don't think painting is always wrong, but this piece is in really great shape. To me painting is a last resort.
Or perhaps paint only legs and handles? Like a matte finish pale color, depending on decor? Maybe silver or pale green?

@ Resident Geek....A fig tree is a common house plant, usually called a Ficus. Most common indoor tree.

I inherited the gardening green thumb, and a thirst for projects. The affinity for modern furniture skipped my parents, so I was the one who lucked out and got the Heywood Wakefield dining set and living room end-tables my grandparents purchased in 1950. My mother thought they were hideous, Huzzah for me!

This is a product I use in fountains, gutters, anywhere water can pool.

Animal safe, used here in Oklahoma in troughs and livestock ponds, and birdbaths.

We have had several deaths in my area due to west nile virus, so it is of greater importance than before. I also know that it is essential to really walk your property and eliminate any chance of standing water, even a tablespoon is enough to breed. Gutters can be a bad culprit, as are potted plant bases.

More information, although I know this doesn't apply much to apartment dwellers...

I moved cross country three years ago. I would accurately describe making new friends as difficult as the dating process, though you don't have to worry about shaving your legs.

A very good recommendation given to me was friends are kept through habit and proximity. If you don't see someone on a regular basis, you won't be able to start or maintain a friendship.

I found that since I work in the museum world, gallery art openings are a great place to become socially engaged with people I run into in a peripheral manner with work.

And my husband and I found a way to get other parents with kids to socialize with us, once a month, on the second Friday of the month, we host a family friendly poker night. We make a big pot of chili, everyone brings sides and toppings and beer, and anyone who wants to can play cards. TV's and video games are off, and we get our teenagers to engage with us and other adults. And because we make it a standard day of the month, everybody knows when it is, and that the party is from 7 - 12pm. That way we don't have to invite everyone, it is an open house every second Friday.

Another tip? That new acquaintance? If they have a crisis, don't assume that they already have a great support system, offer a little help, a visit when sick, drop off a care package of soup. You might find that that person also has a lot of acquaintances, but needed someone to step forward and be a friend.

I love the neoclassical look, and I especially appreciate that it wasn't falsely aged. It looks crisp yet warm, and surprisingly relaxing. Very different from current trends, and that is a great reminder to decorate for your own interests. Love it.

I think it was a fabulous save and a great new use. As I am just around the corner in Tulsa, I only wish I had beat you to it!
