Absolutely perfect!

I'm totally with mdorothy on this - I often get the "looks bare" comment. I don't care; to me its relaxing, zen, Shaker ... I just moved last week into an 1100 square foot house. All my stuff has been in storage for 6 months and I've realized that if I haven't needed it for 6 months I probably don't need it at all. I've already done drop-offs to the SPCA and Goodwill and my tiny garage is now full of stuff to be garage-saled. Feel better already!

I love everything about this space and I must have it. This of course means (a) moving to Seattle from Canada and (b) somehow, um, removing Mark. Sigh - need to give this some serious thought : )

Can you install a flag pole on the exterior of the house, maybe just inside a porch or something? Then its doing what a flag is meant to do. If your boyfriend wants a Norwegian flag inside he could track down a smaller replica or two and incorporate them into the decor as pillows or wall art. If the flag absolutely must be inside it should be either in or over some sort of frame so that it hangs neatly and evenly. Maybe then include it in a grouping of bright abstract art pieces.

I love this space and thanks for the link to Streetview! Kudos on the stashed rope ladder and the kitty rescue system - that is just slick! The floors, the exposed brick, the plywood baseboard, the art, that little built-in shelf - love it all. Great colour choice for the sheets also. The lack of a headboard would bother me - I'd be tempted to install something basically identical to the built-in shelf but the width of the bed. Favourite!
