Good job picking this shade. It's important to consider how much natural light a room gets when picking how light or dark of a shade.

I think they did shorter drapes because they are hung within the window encasement.

I second that, Sally305. If you want the guitar to maintain the same sound over it's lifetime you should keep it in it's case. If you want to hang them then you'll need to maintain constant humidity, just check out the acoustic guitar room at a Guitar Center, it's like a humidor. Why not get some vintage cases and stack them up against a wall?

Another nasty story.

Back in college I lived in a house that all of the sudden developed a horrible smell. Narrowed it down to the kitchen then finally to around the fridge. I finally looked behind it and in the drip pan for the condenser coils I found a ziploc bag with what looked like yellow grits inside. The bag had finally given out and the liquid (which I think was the remnants of chicken) was leaking out and being heated up by the fridge's coils. I think the whole thing was a prank by someone who didn't like us or the previous renters.

Looking at this is like staring in awe at someone putting a complex puzzle together. Good job.

Where is the orange dining table from?

Move the TV and the mirror above it to some other location. Then get a framed print/poster/painting that is at least as wide as the fireplace and just a bit shorter than the mantle and lean it up against the fireplace. This covers up the fireplace without cluttering the area. You could also add some smaller items to the mantle
