Or get an all in one that uses standard parts. I seem to remember a 'case' for the build it yourselfer that used a standard AT (?) motherboard, and no doubt such an option is open to the manufacturers.

Not sure how it works, but its not so simple as just a button. Remember, arcade buttons are just momentary buttons like a door bell, not on-off switches like a light switch, plus i'm not sure if they're high voltage(120V) or low(12V). There actually is likely a lot of work to make this work, either mechanical so it works like old fashioned push button switches, or electronic work.

Neat idea. I agree with the branding thing, but maybe they'll make them available wholesale with little or no branding for marketing companies.

I don't get why you need to hold a phone up to it, that seems rather out dated. Look at how cheap cellphones are, and how small cellular modems are (about the size of a thumb drive). Aside from that, i think its a good idea that your appliances can call service, after all, i hate doing that, and then there's the fun of trying to explain what's wrong, something the equipment can prolly do better.

Now if only the buttons actually did something, maybe make them trigger automatic messages? Somebody rings the Facebook bell, and it posts a wall message that he has a visitor?

Not a bad idea for space usage, after all, how many people take baths any more? I know i don't, so the space wasted by a tub could be better used with a system like this. Only thing i'd do different is use a stacked washer and dryer combo and forgo the storage shelves.

The only problem i can see is that the plug might be too big to run through the leg, but aside from that, this is brilliant in its simplicity.

If its made for cars, it'll have two wires, typically one red, and one black, and require a 12 VDC input, it should be easy enough to get a transformer (got any old wall warts laying around? Check the output voltage and type shown on it, it'll prolly work).

Interesting, i might consider it, but i can't see the point to saving the space. With a Murphy bed, i can see the value in folding the bed to free up room in the bedroom (or living room in a studio), but in a bathroom? Not like you can use the space for your sink or toilet... although... a sink on the back so you can fold it and slide it forward, now that might make sense.

I don't see why it couldn't work, even folding it in the kitchen, just keep your kitchen clean, maybe put down a towel or table cloth on the counter before you work, and do your laundry when you're not doing dinner, say mid-day on the weekend for example. As for dirty clothes, i store mine in a hamper in the bedroom, where else would you store them (admittedly i live in a '643' sq ft apartment(i've long suspected that the square feet is calculated from perimeter to perimeter so that includes walls, patio and closets)).

Well, everything i expected... and nothing more. The iPod Touch and iPhone have shown that there's a market for a handheld unit, something that Jobs didn't believe when he axed the Newton. Now the million dollar question is whether a bigger screen will make it more useful, after all, 3 inches is tiny, but it might be all you need. Or perhaps 3 is too little, but 9.7 is too much. I'm interested, but its going to take more than a little convincing that its worth buying.

From my husband i developed the three part password system. The first two parts don't change, a 3 to 6 letter word, then a two digit number, and then 3 to 6 letter easy site password. For example, my password to Desert Schools ePal (web banking) when i had an account was xxxxxxepal Easy to remember, and all of the info is available, but the likelihood of someone putting it together is fairly slim. Besides, if you're that determined, likely anything i could use would get cracked any how.

I prolly will, because i have the joy of being an apartment dweller with no outside outlets. Yes, i live in Phoenix, but the desert gets cold at night, so leaving a window or the patio door open a bit to run a cord out there is so not enjoyable in the winter.

Hmmm, don't think i could live without my cellphone, at least per se. I don't need the phone part, but i do need a way to communicate. Honestly if i could have my choice, i'd take a camera with a slide up view screen that reveals a full keyboard, and a wireless connection ala Amazon's Kindle. That way i could caption the pictures i share or text people.

I would love one of these, my job has me traveling for about five days every other week with a lot of down time in the hotel. Carrying a pile of books and newspapers isn't real practical, so something like this would be a god send. I know Sony's been around for a while, Target carries a reader from them, though i haven't looked to closely at it.

I could go for one of these, after all, my computer needs are so small, and iPod Touch or iPhone would almost do the job, ifn the screen weren't so small, and it had a real keyboard. Give me a tablet/jumbo iPod Touch with a dock that allows the use of a regular keyboard and mouse, and i'd have all the computer i need.

Pricey, but not that severe, $2 to $3 cards seem to be rather common these days, so while $5 is a bit high, its not as bad as it could be.
