My mom and I saw this at Sam's last weekend and were SALIVATING on how awesome it would be in a kitchen!

sophiesmom - I thought the same thing! I can just see myself falling into the sail and being bounced back onto the into the cabinets.

BEANS! How sad is that? I want to love beans, I just can't get over the chalky texture. The only way I can eat them (and this is a very recent development) is in Dave Lieberman's black bean soup recipe (minus the 10 strips of bacon) - pureed to an inch of their life. The husband tries so hard to get to me to eat "just one kidney bean" but I just can't do it. Turns my stomach :(

I am in love with this layout - it's just like what I want to do to our kitchen. So pretty!

My friends and I use evite as well. It's easy. Since we do so many potluck dinner parties, we are all good about checking in on each other the week before.

As far as hosted dinner parties, I usually send one email or evite reminder the week of. No one's forgotten yet!

I am throwing my husband a casual birthday dinner party tomorrow night. Dave Leiberman's black bean soup, corn and orzo salad, roasted carrots, grilled pork sausages and tofurkey brats, cheddar bread and salted caramel cupcakes.

We are expecting 75 degree weather here in Birmingham, AL and I intend to host this dinner outside!

So a homeowner shouldn't come to the best design site out there for inspiration? I love seeing all the great apartments out there, and the homes. Rooms are rooms, and some houses are smaller than apartments.

I would love to see more of this reno and final kitchen. It is REALLy similar to how we want ours to look in structure and placement. :) Purely selfish reasons

I have the 2x3 GelPro at home - got it at BBB for $90. I LOVE this mat. It helps with the hours of prep work I do in the kitchen on weekends. I put a thin washable bathmat under it to keep water from pooling under it. It's incredibly durable. I want to get the longer one once we reno the kitchen. When we have money, that is ;)

I avoid WalMart as well, and it has nothing to do with their food. Their labor practices are atrocious. Anyone's who's seen The High Cost of Low Prices can attest (yes, I know it's skewed to make WM look bad, but facts are facts) to the fact that "going green" is just not enough. We don't make much money, and it's tempting to go in there on occasion, but I just can't. Nor do I shop at Whole Foods. I live in Birmingham, AL and we have a great, cheap farmers market 10 min away.

I, too, shudder at the word "healthful". Urg! Drives me nuts. Same with delish and yum-o

Definitely see the annoyance with "tablescape".

Hey - I spy my cabinet up there! Yes, the bottom of the cabinet under the sink had warped and rotted through. Until we can afford our new cabinets, my handy husband built a sturdy ledge for everything.

And now I really see how badly I need to clean and paint the wood and doors!
