As for the rest, did you break in to my grandparents' house? They decorated their home in the 50s and 60s, when all those classic pieces where sold through the local coop stores, FDB, for very reasonable prices, oh the perks of socialism: affordable, well designed, handcrafted furniture.

I used to hate that hotel, so one day I sat down and read about it and what Jacobsen wanted to achieve, now I love passing it every morning and afternoon.
Sometimes good design can be a bit of an "acquired taste", but then so much more appreciated.

Knives! Nothing can substitute a good knife. For most everything else, you can find something that can do what you want it too even if it wasn't designed for it, but nothing can stand in for a knife.

That demo doesn't look too bad. When my parents renovated their kitchen the last year I lived at home, we ended up having a 2 meter deep mud-whole dividing the house in two, with bathrooms on one side and bedrooms on the other and us running back and forth in underwear outside in the morning to get to the bathrooms! Oh, renovation-memories...
