That looks lovely (and delicious)! What's the name of the venue?

I have a blank wall behind my stove, and I would love to do this... but wouldn't your seldom-used pots and pans get greasy?

sturdydesign, those curtains are from Urban Outfitters. I have the same ones in my living room. I have that bedspread, too, but it never would have occurred to me to put them in the same room, but it obviously works.

I'd also like to know where the rug is from. Gorgeous!

I just bought the entire Friends series boxed set, because it was the easiest way to re-watch the Thanksgiving episodes for this year. I love it too.

Me too--my lease is up in December and I plan to renew for 6 months so I can move next summer. There aren't as many nice options (cheap or otherwise) in the winter.

I have these (in green). I rarely use them. They are not exact enough to replace my standard measuring cups, and I guess I don't really do mise en place all that often.

Actually, I have 2 sets (because Sur La Table screwed up and doubled my order). Maybe I should give them to one of my tv-show-chef-wannabe friends.

bali2, practice makes perfect. My dad used to do that when I was a kid, so I practiced until I could do it too. I always get egg all over that hand though, so usually I use 2 hands to separate the shell when I'm cooking-it save hand-washing time. I only crack one-handed when there is someone around to impress. :)

I do this. I don't have cable, so I watch some shows at my boyfriend's house. I live in an apartment with little storage, so when I paint I borrow a latter from a friend who has a house. I "pay" them back with baked goods and companionship. Maybe I'm just cheap, but I don't see why I should buy something that I'm only going to use once every few years, and my friend won't miss it while I have it. I'm also a big fan of using the library and renting DVDs instead of buying.

I only wear an apron if I'm wearing something nice I want to keep clean--usually, right before parties. Which of course leads to me spending half the party wearing an apron, having forgotten to take it off. But normally I'm wearing my around-the-house t-shirts and shorts or sweats to cook in, and I don't bother.
