We have this rug in our son's playroom. Normally, I am not a fan of road rugs, but the muted whimsy of this one changed my view. When IKEA is good, it's actually downright brilliant!

We had 3 rescue dogs, ages 7, 5, and 1.5 when our DS (now 18 mos) was born. They are all great family dogs in temperament. We have trained them well, and have had no problems. Training, understanding pack behavior, and having safe boundaries - especially with food - are the key.

Timely post! We were visiting the other day with an elderly couple that keeps one of the classic versions of the Little People Parking Garage around for young guests - amazingly, it's in pristine condition. Our DS loved it, but like jackied302, I was also thinking choke hazard. The current versions just look so bulky in comparison and lack that certain charm of the original - but are infinitely safer I'm sure.

I adore vintage in kids' rooms! Not really digging the name emblazoned on the wall though - the color & font don't seem to mesh as well as they could with the rest of the palette & style. This would age well with a child and would be great for either a boy or a girl. Nice!

I know I'm in the minority with what I'm about to say, but I think ALL registries/wish lists and/or mention of gifts in the invite for any occasion are tacky. Etiquette has come to embrace the wedding registry which I grudingly used when I got married, but -- call me old school -- I still find it presumptuous and overly precious.

I also think parents tend to go way overboard on their kids' birthday parties, and this tacky wish-list phenomenon is just an extension of that. The premise is the "wrong" gift would be the end of the world?? No wonder American kids too often have a warped sense of entitlement and no appreciation for the "less is more" way of life. Mama always said: "you get what you get, and you don't throw a fit. You write a nice, prompt thank you note."

Amen to both of the above comments - and this would be a wonderful DIY with cardboard & some paint.

This all looks so amazing! It's truly the perfect room for the expectant couple who wants to be surprised by their baby's sex. It's the kind of room that will also age really well with the child. Well done!

Very clever idea! I see loads of vintage albums for kids at thrift stores that would be just perfect for this.

I second kellyjeanie's suggestion of "Time to Pee!" by Mo Willems. And for the parents, I recommend "Diaper-Free Before 3: The Healthier Way to Toilet Train and Help Your Child Out of Diapers Sooner" by Jill M. Lekovic, M.D.

What adriennep said: "let yourselves relax and believe you can do it." ;) I'm pretty sure that once you're parents you won't be giving this another thought.

I love that this room looks like a real nursery, and not something out of a catalogue. Wonderful curtain rod idea. And I love the wall art, especially the red, polka dot toadstool-roofed house.

IMHO, the armoir would look much better if it were painted red, or perhaps white.
