Love your place and design. I also have a studio so I'm amaze at how you make everything works in such small space. Great job. By the way where did you find that necklace hanger? so cute*

Hey abigaibelle,
I got to agree with you on this one too. No one can foresee the future. Who knows, maybe they all have trust funds or they might not depend on their parent and get a student loan... we don't know all the possiblities.

-But beautiful interior to the home owner by the way.

ChrisGal- That's pretty good if you can refurnish your whole living room for that. Having a budget also mean to planned out to making your goal meet. I make my budget based on how much I make and how much I need, and I'm sure it's different then your budget.
Maybe $900.00 seems over budget to you. But to me, it's pretty affordable, and I like it the way it is. : )

Hi ChrisGal,
Maybe I'm confused on your suggestion..
But what I was thinking is, I just move in this newly apt without any furniture. I decide to spend around $900 on this CB2 high table set. (Which I did). So are you suggesting I should have gotten a dinning table before I move in or I should go out get one and replace the current one now? Because to me it won't make sense to replace it now. Then if later I move into a big house and have a big dinning able and use the current one in a bar area later. I don't have to sell it at all. I'm sure some people will agree with me on this. That I don't have to sell this high table set, when I move later on.
But Thanks for the suggestion, because I'll be sure to get a formal dinning table later on. :)

And for iisandy1214 -
Yea thank you for your sweet comments, I had a 5' x 8' number rug before, but it got mess up by hot chocolate stain...so I had to get a small and inexpensive rug for replacement. I liked that pattern too, I'm trying to go for neutral/brown tone for the whole space.

Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for all the comments and critique.

To answer your questions:
The Wall light are from Ikea, Gyllen.
The sofa is from west elm, discontinued now.
Wall Shelf from Ikea LJUSDAL
Frame and Ledge are also from Ikea.

Since I'm a designer, I use a large format printer, that prints 13x19 size or larger. I'm sure that it's not going to fit into the bookcase. The paper is easier to load in when it's on the ground like that. =)

And for ChrisGal, I know you mention this before, but I've also commented that when I get a big house I'l' get a new dinning table. As for now, I don't think I'll throw away my "new" high table set that was expensive away.

Oh yea, and it's co-op in Jackson Heights. Thank you again for all the thumb-up, and compliment and support, best!

Hi Monalmm,
Thanks for the comments. The candle wall sconces are form bed &bath beyond. The lighting fixture are from Ikea. They are pretty easy to install!

Fiona, Yea I like jackson heights alot too. I agree that alot of the building look older from outside, but inside can be very charming.

Thanks for everyone's more thoughtful comments.
As a designer, I agree with neighborhoodbuddy that we're happy with the high table's function and style. I'd say we totally love it.

It's an old apt. The kitchen used to be closed off with a door. but we opened it up to connect it to the rest of the apartment and add to the sense of openness. I also have some before and after image I'd like to share.

Thank you for the comments again!

Owning your first apartment is very special for us, with all the planning and budgeting. I'm sure I'll get a dinning table with 4 chair when we get a house later. As for now, it fits our need. My boyfriend's hobby is to mix drinks and we have friends over almost everyday to hangout around there and they like to sit around and chat or maybe even some drinks. I know someone mention move the bar shelves somewhere else, but what other better place to have it when it's a studio size apartment?

And for Gina, Thank you for the comment! Yea, the apartment had went through some remodeling, that's why it looks different now. And we spend a lot time decorating it, even adding some ikea stuff to the apt. But I really like the building itself too, It has a roof deck, and intercom that goes to your cellphone and friendly staffs.

For evany, I am glad you like it. I like the area a lot. Maybe you can tell me what are some nice place to eat in at.

Iviox, the duvet is from west elm. comforter and bedsheet and pillow are all from Bed Bath & Beyond.

ah2bthee, We have a small kitchen, the dish washer is under the sink. I'm still trying to figure out where to but the can too. Any other ideas you can think of? Thank you.

Thank you for viewing the photos. best!

As a New Yorker, that price seem very normal. Everything in New York is expensive. A studio apartment rental that's in Long island city, like 10 minutes away from the city can cost from 2500 or more. People are use to the high price in New York City. It gets so pricy, so does real estate. but I know so many people that like to live in the city, because of the location. Anyways, Really nice photos and lovely kitchen!

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for all the positive and constructive comments.
The sofa is from West Elm. I got it last november, I think it's sold out already. It's super comfortable and we love it.

For bepssf's comment:
I have to admit, I did got two big furniture from West Elm. They're the bed and the sofa. Not all of them are from West Elm. Some of them are from CB2, Living Concept and Ikea. Accessories are from urban outfitter, Bed Bath & Beyond, TjMax and Irresistible Home.

As for the rail, the whole apartment is made of concrete wall, the rail was just used to make any easier decor change for us later on without drilling too many holes again and again. But Thank you for the comment, I'll try to play with different size frame when I change the artworks.

For nyckrissy, Go hang it up. I'm sure you'll love it. It was so romantic for us when we lit it up.

For Bromella's comment:
My boyfriend really want a dinning table. But having a dinning table with 4 chair takes up so much space make it hard to walk pass. So we went with the high table, for a studio space.

The bar stools serve as two function, One is for eating quick breakfast in the morning. The second is when we have few guest over, we can move it to the high table and adjust to the height. We have fun chatting with friends without a big dinning table. I think for us, it's functional.

For catsf, it's a Summit Refrigerator Freezer - very slim and fit good.

For H LI, i like your suggestion, Do you think a canvas wrap art would look good instead of frame art?

Thank you for everyone's comment, I really appreciate your time.

I love your space, feel so warm and cozy. Nice job. And I have the same sofa like you from west elm. I love how you put the orange pillow on top of it.
