I find it sad that the commenters are so busy pathologizing this obviously talented lady and not focusing on her amazing creation. No, it is not something that most of us would want to live in but her and her husband have created something amazing. I wish I could hire her to organize all of my collections. Genius!

I saw one (just one) of those green dining chairs on Craigslist a while back and thought it was sad that there wasn't a complete set. Glad to see there is and that it works so well.

I would suggest fabric roman blinds hung at the ceiling so as to clear the door. They are height adjustable in how far they go down and can be made at home if you have sewing skills. I have made them before. It was fussy but relatively easy. Good luck and let us know what you decide. Hopefully with photos!

You forgot to mention Uncle Thorvald's Happy Kitchen which you posted before. Okay, it doesn't go with the contemporary ones above but it still lives in my bookmarks.

ivpb74 - I recently called Ikea and the person that I spoke with stated that the Ikea PS collection is only available in select stores for the foreseeable future. They couldn't give me a reason.

You'd probably be better off in the long run if you put the money from any potential temporary fix towards a future reupholstery job. Maybe an existing throw and a pillow will make it more presentable until then.

I like to have people over that first evening for pizza and a drink. People love to see the "before" and having people there makes it feel like a home.
