This is why I'm not living with anyone until marriage. And I'm not getting married unless my husband-to-be and I agree on a fair division of labor. The only fair division of labor if both of us are working 40 hours per week is 50/50 division of labor OR paying a cleaning service. End of story. Home Ec., Pt. 2: A Balancing Act for Us All |

Funny, I just had a dream last night about eating at Chinese buffet with John Mayer and one of my friends. I don't even listen to John Mayer. But my friend was over-flirting with him and taking forkfuls of my lo mein, so I was getting annoyed with her. Sleeping Secret: I Dream of Croissants |

FYI, the Butler brothers are originally from Houston, so the suburbs they're evoking are the Houston suburbs (specifically the Woodlands). They are the least California band I know of. Plus, they live in Canada. But interpretations are subjective, I suppose! California Dreamin' Home Inspiration from Arcade Fire's Album Art |

@deblunic -- Picture a semi-relaxing bus ride...I take out my bag of roasted cashews (bought from bulk). As I munch on them, I notice something kind of weird and strandy on one of the nuts. I look into my bag of nuts, and there are worms crawling around! Eek! How To Buy and Store Bulk Foods Home Hacks | Apartment Therapy Re-Nest |

Thick cut fries with creamy chipotle sauce. Deli meats on soft french bread with tons of mayo, lettuce, and tomato. Sliced American cheese, straight up. Steamed white rice with Vietnamese charcoal beef or bulgogi. What's Your Weakness? Foods We Can't Resist | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

I live in in an apartment...A neighbor not right next to me but the next one down can be heard yelling LOUUUD obscenities at his TV. He watches a lot of sports (my eyes wandered towards his window once, and I noticed two TVs, both playing sports). Apparently when something goes wrong in the game he watches, he throws a fit (most likely fueled by beer, as I notice he takes a lot of empty beer cans to the recycling bin). Mostly, "G**dammit!!! Motherf*****!!!" Very extreme stuff. He got a bird that chirps a lot, too. I can hear this all from INSIDE my apt. I feel bad for person that lives right next to him. I'm being gossipy!! About dish sponges...is it not normal to use a dish sponge for about a month? If I think it might be a little icky, I run it under hot water and squeeze detergent through it a few times. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | 9 Dangerous Home Habits |

One of favorite snacks as a kid was a slice of individually-wrapped American cheese melted on top of a flour tortilla in the microwave. The unnatural way the cheese flows yet never sticks to anything—the way real cheese does—was definitely its allure. I say this as I'm eating real mozzarella. But I might have to pick up some fake cheese during my next trip to the store! Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | In Praise of American Cheese |

Why not?? It's fun. It looks like the person put a lot of time and thought into these zen-scapes, too. They may not be particularly useful, but I think they're neat. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Miniature Gardenscapes from LBrandt |

As someone who likes bold, slightly unnatural colors, this place excites me. I live in a cookie 1-bdr apt, so when I go bold with color, things don't look all that dramatic ever! I love the pink bathroom! I love your house way better than the white walls/wood floors/restrained aesthetic seen on this site often. Color is the spice of life!
