what's special about playGo compared to Apple AirPlay or the original Airport Express is that it can play and all audio on your system - pandora, rhapsody, netflix movie's audio all beamed to your stereo - not just limited to iTunes. Furthermore, it has 96/24 support and upsamples all audio to 24 bits. USB DAC's on the market that do this are $450+ and require you to tether your laptop to your stereo, playGo let's you this wirelessly while providing IR support and has local control. On good speakers playGo sounds way better than my Squeezebox and Airport Express that it replaced - highly recommend. Oh and on top of all that it's made out of Corian! Panasonic had a big hand in the invention and adoption of SD, come on that's a big one! Also they make the Plasma sets in the world especially now that Pioneer is out of the 'picture'. Cool post, one note though...the LEDs are not the power vampire, those standby LEDs probably generate only about 60 milliwatts of power. It's the circuit that is running in the background, power supply/network connectivity/etc that is really the reason for the energy drain when in 'standby'. Another cool trick, if you are brave, is to open up the enclosure and put a higher value resistor in front of the LED, or if you want completely remove it. It's a great install and neat innovation with placing the speaker in the closet.
