yay! I have been looking for a small grill and both the Eva Solo grills, but am too cheap to get them. The Charcoal Bucket Grill looks good, but I worry it would get too hot for our deck. We used to have a Weber grill, but we got rid of it when we moved, and again, not really wanting to catch the wooden deck on fire.

I have been looking at the Cobb grill, which claims it does not get too hot to touch http://www.cobbq.com/shopexd.asp?id=63

but my neighbor upstairs swears her big green egg is the way to go.

has anyone tried either of these?

I put one of these in my awesome room, and hid my printer inside of it and all my office junk inside of it. It's nice because it has holes to run the cords through.

I am not really finished, but I have to say this has def been a great thing. We have had dinner every night at the table, so finally getting kitchen chairs really has transformed how we talk over dinner. I also have to say while I think I denied having any problems working together with mr. kendra.e, we have had a lot of discussions about what kind of furniture we each like and hate and are still working that out, but it is kinda nice to have a place we both love. I'm going to try to post some pictures of the awesome room this weekend, as it is right now. Not perfect or finish, but much better than when we started!

muh! I don't know what we are supposed to be doing, but clearly we aren't doing it! I'm still hanging in there and while I won't be done by next week, we should be pretty darn close. We spent the day putting together furniture, then taking 6 boxes of books to a thrift store, and then tomorrow we'll sort through some more stuff. I'm so excited, even if I am not on schedule!

Utility Canvas makes a moving blanket type thing that is a quilt, but if you are going to just use it to cover your bed during the the day and the dog isn't as fussy as people about how soft it is, maybe a actual movers blanket would be cheaper?

Not that pretty but we used this thing from the kids dept at Ikea for a long time to separate the bottles and paper and kept twine and bags in the bottom. You can get dif size bins, and in dif colors.

I am finally sorta back in gear after a break where I spent too much time playing ray man. I got a bunch of stuff at ikea today and the Awesome Room should be sorted out and set up by next weekend. I don't know if I'm going to get my day bed for the living room this month, but def next.

I saw these pencils on another blog a couple weeks ago and thought it was neat idea, like I after I'm gone I still might be involved in writing a bunch of grocery lists or a term paper or a great novel or bad poetry if anyone still used pencils. I would also enjoy being a bunch of pencils next to the terminals at the libary so people could use me to scrawl down the numbers. I also would not mind being used for doodling.

I feel a bit behind and stuck, and am going to be away part of this coming month and really need to get some stuff done.

Stuff that is done:

-put feet on kitchen table legs, then ordered a dif set that looks a bit better and put those on.
-made dinner every! day and sat at table (I actually forgot one night and started eating at my desk, and then saw mr.kendra e was eating at the table and felt a bit bad)
-ordered futon cover and blanket for awesome room
-put some placemats on kitchen table and got new lamp for it off ebay
-moved tile table outside to cafe gazebo
-spent 3 hours on friday afternoon sorting through papers and organzing them into boxes. Managed to find the one piece of paper I have been looking for for 3 months.

That's it really! The dumbest thing was that we went to ikea yesterday to get some furniture; I seriously can't stand the crowds, and tried not to get distracted by things I don't need. I haven't bought any big furniture there in awhile and when we got back to the basement warehouse bit realized we had to go back up to the dept and get printouts for some furniture, and I just could not take it and decided just to get it online since we would have to have it delivered anyhow. Got home and discovered those things are no longer for sale online, gah! I think I might just try to get mr.kendra.e to go back together because I don't want to spend any more time dreading future trips to ikea. Did get some lingonberry jam tho and some cookies.

I just took a break from the awesome room to deal with the two boxes of clothes in my closet. I am finally getting rid of a sweatshirt I bought on vacation when I turned 21, the sweater dress I wore to my 10th reunion, and a hands across america tee shirt.

I'm doing ok, sorta. I am still glad about the chairs, but now I am stuck on the Awesome Room. I have 3 bits of stuff to get for it, and then can start putting some things away, but I am stuck on just ordering the the 3 bits. I spend way too much time looking at other options and it's a little bit exhausting. I need to just get the 3 bits of furniture and move on.

Jess2nola, what does your person like about the futon? If they aren't sitting on it, do they use it for something else? Or do they just like the idea of it for something? We have a futon in our living room right now that is moving into the awesome room for company, but we have talked about it. I am actually the one who likes sleeping on it, but I'm going to switch over to a daybed that is more couch like. We do have discussions about things like lamps and I am always surprised to hear that mr. kendra.e really likes something or even cares where it goes, but he does! While I would probably have a dif apt if we didn't have these talks, I sorta feel like the apartment we are growing into is a little more thoughtful because of them. That's not to say the futon doesn't have to go tho. :)

Anyhow, we are working out who likes what and what is staying and going too. Mr. Kendra.E is not too involved with the whole cure, but after I discovered where we keep the vacuum I shoved it back in there one day, and over the weekend, he explained to me how the 'landing strip' for the vacuum was going to work, which cracked me up. I seriously hate vacuuming, so I am glad to let him set up his vacuum landing strip any way he wants.

Sea, I think that it is awesome you have spent so much time getting rid of stuff. I am a total messy, and spent a lot of time getting junk together, and then spent a lot of time recently getting rid of it. Last year, especially when it looked like we were going to have to move, I dropped a bag or two off every Saturday at a thrift store and still have lots of stuff left. I was a little bit proud of myself when I showed a former roommate the pictures of this apartment, and she said I had a lot less stuff then I used to have, and she would know because I know it drove her crazy. I know I still have junky tendencies tho, and still love thrift stores and flea markets and junk sitting on the side of the road, but I am much better at walking away from things then I used to be.

Anyhow, I am still plugging along!

About four years ago, I was with a friend who was getting a haircut on Sullivan Street. Anyhow, I was wandering around and found a store that sold only things made of cotton, like jeans and cotton wrap dresses, and these blankets that were like moving blankets only softer. Does anyone know what this store is without me having to go up there and wander around. It wasn't on Sullivan, just around there somewhere.
