I clean my bathroom as I go i.e. after I've finished showering etc. You don't feel like cleaning if you make it into a big one-day chore. Music is a must!

Definitely unsubscribe from all those shopping & sale emails! Also
- draw out money and leave the cards at home
- find other things to do than mooching around the shops
- sleep on it
I always try and sell something when I buy something like clothes/shoes.

I get out for a walk by the canal/river/lakes, mooch on the sofa, read on the balcony, cuddle with pets. The phone stays off!

I sing, dance to music, talk to my rabbits in an almost Dutch accent I suppose, watch Beverly Hills 90210 DVDs and made for TV movies, do home spa (facial, manicure, pedicure, soak in the bath while watching DVD). My husband & I often leave the bathroom door open & prance around with nothing on!

I take leftovers or salads in most days (although I've been a bit slack lately...) and then have lunch out once a week and a chai latte on my way in on a Thursday morning (maybe twice a month).

I used mine at Christmas to carry presents, and also the other day when my mum was moving house. Love it!

Have spent the last year helping my mum who's in her early 60s look for a place to downsize to. She'll be going from the 3 bedroom house I grew up in to a 2 bedroom maisonette. It's difficult to think about your parents getting older and the inevitable (Dad went before he got to that stage), but at the same time you have to be practical and make things easier. Also, I think the main thing for her at this stage is wanting a change and to have less to clean and take care of.

I got black-out lining for my curtains, sleep with the small window open, and try to get a regular bedtime. No screens (tv, phones, laptops) before bed! A nice hot shower or bath is also good. I think high impact exercise before bed is not a good idea - I found I was wide awake and hyper after a late dance class. I find I can sleep better after something gentler like yoga or swimming, or if the dance class finishes earlier!

Love it! I changed all my darker bedspreads for lighter colours and I also got cream curtains and attached blackout curtains on the back of them so they don't let too much light in in the mornings. Also got a white Hemnes chest of drawers from ebay & replaced the knobs with ceramic ones in pink & white. It has made such a difference in my bedroom.

The tealights are great - I've bought cheap tealights elsewhere and they didn't burn as long as the Ikea ones. I have the huge version of their white lantern, the Hemnes daybed and Hemnes large chest of drawers, of which I replaced the knobs with pink & white ceramic ones. The plain Lack table is simple and effective in my living room. Also have the 3 seater Karlstaad sofa with jungle design cover and armchair in plain dark green cover - these are not as comfortable as I would like, but do the job for now and stop me becoming a couch potato. I have never bought a rug at Ikea because I think they're overpriced for what they are. I haggled my rugs at a market in London.

I love the first home office. Some of the other rooms look a bit too cluttered for my taste, but you work with what you've got. I've made use of hooks behind doors, shelving and a daybed with drawers for storing bed linen. I'm lucky that I have an outdoor storage shed/garage and cupboard for things like bikes. Just need to sort out my home office!

Got rid of ugly mugs, vases that are so narrow you can't fit flowers in then, tons of plastic containers from takeaways, shoes and clothes that I haven't worn in 3 years, a wicker basket that looks nice, but there's nowhere to put it, and so it goes on...
