Echoing the thoughts of these other smart mamas, I had no pail and used a combo of disposables in our kitchen trash {we have a simple human butterfly type and never had stink issues} and G-diapers.

I wanted the VIPP too, but $320 is ridiculous for a trash can! and you'll be twice as motivated to start EC at an early age, changing poopy diapers is no fun and we had a fast transition out of them by around 18 months as well.

I have a KinderZeat, generation before the Tripp Trapp and this is totally possible. My little guy tipped himself over in the chair on our wooden non-slippery deck when we ate outside once last summer. We still use it everyday inside on the slick hardwood floor b/c it slides instead of tipping, but definitely beware of where you use this chair if you have a very small child. I love my chair and it works for me, but I know first hand that this chair can be dangerous for babies.

Thanks everyone! I'm just figuring out that folks commented and I needed to register and respond!
I wish I had better photos, b/c the room is really more fun in real life.
The closet doors & fence were created by painting architectural balsa wood in a distressed style and then gluing them to the closet doors for a realistic barnwood feel.
peta is correct - it is a babystyle lulu the lamb rocker - though i think they have since changed her look.
the desk is an old antique Chautauqua scroll desk that my mom found when i was little in Vermont. perfect that it had barnyard animals as one of the scroll scenes!
