Try a glassy or silver glitter- like a coating of frost. Pile them in a glass bowl or tall glass container. I love using gourds in their own variety of colors & shapes; some last a few weeks, some over a year. I don't do anything to preserve them because I never remember what you are supposed to use! Hippie-grandma on crack, but in a good way. It made quite a statement for a teensy room. I think the padded walls are a unique touch to take the boxy feel out of it. Good question from Robbybird- Maybe it would work to carefully tape down the cord in a nice straight line then paint over the tape to match the wall. Maybe a wide paper packing tape that will accept the paint. The somewhat visible tape would look better than the cord. I hate cords showing anywhere and there aren't any prefab solutions I know of. Solution for clean but dusty/ musty guest linens & towels: tumble in the dryer on low 5 or 10 minutes with a fabric softener sheet. Gets the dust right out. Light a nice but NOT overpowering candle in the guest sleep zone to freshen the air. And, please, a small lamp, clock and radio by the bed makes the guest's stay much more comfortable.
