Jeremy, I put together my first tessellation today, and it looks great! Thanks again for the step-by-step video instructions.

For those interested, I not use any epoxy, and instead used duct tape for everything from securing the braces, to securing the meter stick to the tessellation. We'll see if it holds long term, but I suspect it will be fine...

Thanks Jeremy! I think I will give this a go this weekend.

What is your best mounting advice?

Jeremy, my suggestion would be to:

1. make a PDF of the tutorial
2. sign up for a free Dropbox account at http://www.dropbox.com
3. place the PDF in your public dropbox
4. post the link to the PDF here!

I echo the request for more information regarding the Origami Tessallation sculptures. Is this something you guys created yourself? If so, can you point to some instructions? If not, where did you get them?

I completely disagree with the "never buy the floor model" tip.

This is not a sophisticated piece of electronics - it's a mattress. How long do customers test mattresses out at the store for, two minutes on average at most? It's not like these floor models are going though years of use and abuse by people testing them out two minutes at a time...

Most mattress stores I have frequented either have you take off your shoes before laying on the mattress, or have a layer at the bottom of the mattress for shoe protection. Last I checked, people lay on pillows with their clothes on. With this in mind, you can really score a great deal on the mattress of your dreams.

Case in point: I just bought the floor model for a $2k Kingsdown mattress for $700...

Take a look at the "Bacall Sleeper Sofa" collection from Macy's. It comes in a wide variety of colors, and the 2 piece Queen Sleeper with Floating Chaise is quite versitile. it comes with an extra cushion so you can set it up as just a couch, a sectional with a left or right facing chaise. It is also a sleeper for guests, and, it's $1300.

So far, it has held up very well and looked good in my place...

I also submitted a similar question question to AT a while ago, which was not posted.

I purchased a high quality Eames repro several months ago. The chair has a small rip in the leather, and the plywood could use a new finish.

Would anyone have any suggestions for the New York City/Northern New Jersey area? I live in Hoboken, and would love to get this chair reupholstered and refinished.

Any ideas on a local spot where I could this done, and about how much this should set me back?

Any help would be greatfully appreciated!
